Ignition Casino review
Ignition Casino overview
Ignition Casino was founded in 2016 by the same teams behind the globally recognised Bodog, Bovada and Slots.lv online casino brands, and the Australian-centric Joe Fortune. It owns what used to be Bovada Poker database since 2016, meaning Ignition’s online poker rooms are connected with everyone who plays in the larger Bodog Poker Network. Because Ignition Casino caters to American poker customers, it is the largest U.S. facing offshore-based online poker site in the world. It has also recently expanded into the Australian online poker market, so it is only appropriate for American (the states of Delaware, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey and New York are unfortunately excluded) and Australian real money players. However, even with some decent welcome bonuses and game offerings, does Ignition match up to the current top-rated online casinos?
Ignition Casino free spins and sign-up bonus
All new players who sign up for an account at Ignition Casino can claim up to $3,000 in welcome bonuses depending on how much betting money you transfer into your account in your first few deposits, or which type of currency you use to fund your account. The welcome bonus package is broken down into three different offers:
1. Ignition Casino offer: Ignition matches your first online casino deposit 100% up to $1000, which means if you transfer the maximum amount of $1,000 on your first deposit to the casino, Ignition will credit your account with an additional $1,000 in bonuses to get you started.
2. Ignition Poker offer: Ignition matches your first online poker deposit 100% up to $1000, which means if you transfer the maximum amount of $1,000 on your first deposit to their poker network, Ignition will credit your account with an additional $1,000 in bonuses to get you started. You have to download Ignition’s special poker software to your computer as it is separate to the rest of the no download, instant-play casino section of the site.
3. Ignition Casino Bitcoin offer: Ignition matches your first Bitcoin deposit 200% up to $2,000, which means if you transfer the maximum amount of $1,000 on your first deposit using Bitcoin cryptocurrency, Ignition will credit your account with an additional $2,000 in bonuses. This one requires the use of the bonus code, ‘IGBITCOIN200’ in the banking section of your account while depositing.
These offers are incredibly similar to other online casinos catering to the US, and in our eyes we’d like to see more of it from sites specialising in other regions. Bitcoin is getting more popular by the day and it would be great to see other casinos granting cryptocurrency users hefty bonuses such as the one from Ignition.
Ignition Casino and Poker wagering requirements
The first two sign-up bonus offers at Ignition Casino have a 25X playthrough requirement attached to them, which means you have to play a certain amount of real money games before you are able to withdraw any winnings you may earn with your bonuses. Games across the site have different rollover percentages, but all of the site’s slots and speciality games count 100% towards completing said playthrough requirements. Be aware table games and video poker only count towards 60%, and all other games (baccarat, most of the blackjack titles, Sic Bo) do not count at all towards completing the wagering requirement stipulations. The Ignition Bitcoin welcome bonus offer is slightly different in that only Craps is excluded from the playthrough requirement games list. All games across the site count 100% towards the 25X wagering requirements set.
All in all, the wagering requirements at Ignition Casino are standard-fare rates, though lower than many other popular online casinos we have reviewed (often set at 35X or even 40X playthrough requirement).
Ignition Casino VIP loyalty program and other rewards
Ignition has other bonuses, promotions and one-off offers for new sign-ups and long-time members to opt in for and get some additional betting money.
Ignition Rewards: This is the casino’s player loyalty rewards program which gives incentive for long-time players to keep playing at Ignition. Essentially, every player who bets real money on the casino or poker sections of the site gets reward points, with around 1 point awarded for every $1 you bet on online slots and for every $4 spent on all other casino games available on the site. Split into 8 tiers, you get different levels of rewards depending on where you currently sit, which can be viewed in full detail on Ignition’s rewards page.
Tell A Friend: All members at Ignition can get 200% of their friend’s first deposit, up to $100, for referring new sign-ups via a special generated link. So if you have friends on Facebook, Twitter or any other platform that sign up via your link, you’re eligible for this bonus (the regular 25X playthrough requirement applies to this bonus).
The Weekly Boost: Get up to seven weekly 100% match bonuses up to $100, and you can redeem your weekly deposit bonus code up to seven times per week. You have to make a deposit once in the last 90 days to get the weekly bonus code to be sent to your account.
Real money casino games at Ignition
Ignition is an instant-play online and mobile casino site which works smoothly on computers, laptops, smartphone and tablet devices (Android, iOS, Samsung and Windows compatible). This means you do not have to download any special software to begin playing its real money casino games – you can just load them up and play directly within your Web browser tab. However, the poker part of the site does require you to download Ignition’s proprietary software to play – the rest require no downloads.
Ignition currently offers over 150 casino games for Australian and US-based players. Their gaming software isn’t as diverse or as impressive as many other contemporaries with only titles from Bodog Custom (proprietary software), Rival Gaming and Real Time Gaming available due to many casino game studios not offering their games to US players. As a result, it’s a whole lot less in quantity and quality than many other casino sites we have reviewed here on BettingPlanet.
Games are divided into five categories on Ignition, with Poker taking its own special site.
Slots: Three-reel, five-reel, 3D, i-Slots, Progressives, Real Series, Video Slots.
Table Games: Blackjack, Baccarat, Caribbean Hold’em, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Let It Ride, Pai Gow, Roulette, Three Card Rummy and Tri Card Poker.
Speciality Games: Bingo, instant scratch cards, Keno, and Sudoku.
Video Poker: Bonus Deuces, Bonus Poker, Deuces Wild, Jacks or Better, etc.
Ignition Casino payment methods
Ignition Casino has a small and standard list of accepted deposit and withdrawal options for casino players to fund their accounts. Because it is primarily a site which caters to US players (and now Australians), Ignition seems to heavily push Bitcoin as its preferred currency option from its members, though it has yet to update itself with new options for AU-specific customers. The following fees apply for these available payment options:
- Amex: 9.9%
- Bitcoin: 100% free deposits and withdrawals
- MasterCard: 7.9%
- Rapid Transfer: $12 flat fee
- Visa: 5.9%
Ignition Casino licensing and security
Ignition Casino currently has no publicly listed gaming license from an advanced gaming jurisdiction. It was previously officially licensed and regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, but from September 2016 the casino’s parent company Lynton Limited was no longer operating under Kahnawake due to a deal struck between the regulator and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, who sought to make it harder for offshore online casinos offer their poker games to US customers.
Ignition Casino customer service
Similar to other Bodog or Bovada-affiliated betting sites and casinos, Ignition has a fairly standard range of customer service options, which, in our experience, wasn’t timely at all and very lackluster when it came to giving us clear answers on basic queries we had (such as about clarification regarding future licensing, sign-up bonuses and withdrawals).

BettingPlanet verdict on Ignition Casino
Because Ignition’s licensing and regulation is currently up in the air, we cannot fully recommend Ignition to players. History has shown many Bodog-related brands and affiliated operators to be trustworthy places to play, but the BettingPlanet team values the importance of reputable regulation from advanced gaming jurisdictions when reviewing and recommending betting sites to our readers. While Ignition is certified by iTech Labs, a testing company which ensures random number generators and the software powering the games adhere to fair and responsible gaming practices, it’s not enough to get a tick for us. Overall, it’s a shame, because Ignition’s Poker Network looks like one of the best available for US customers who don’t like their state’s iGaming choices (currently only Delaware, New Jersey and Nevada have legalised online gambling) and would prefer playing elsewhere on the Web.
