Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins
Just like last season the Eagles turn to backup quarterback Nick Foles with Carson Wentz out with a back injury.
However, unlike last season Philly is not already in the playoffs when Foles has been called on, as they need to win this game and have the Minnesota Vikings lose to the Chicago Bears.
The Eagles have won two in a row and four of their last five games. Foles passed for 471 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in Philadelphia’s last game, which was a 32-30 home win over the Houston Texans.
The Redskins are out of the playoffs with their last loss and they are playing their fourth quarterback of the season in Josh Johnson.
They played a close game in their last one, but two late interceptions sealed Washington’s fate. The Skins are at home in this game and in the matchup earlier this season in Philadelphia they beat the Eagles 28-13. Johnson played well in the last game, which was a 25-16 loss to the Tennessee Titans, and Adrian Peterson rushed for 116 yards and averaged a solid 4.6 yards per carry.
While the Eagles may win this game, the Redskins will put up a fight at home and in a close one they will, at least, cover the spread.

L.A. Chargers vs. Denver Broncos
The Chargers suffered a costly loss in their last game falling to the Baltimore Ravens. 22-10. They could have taken over the second seed in the AFC with a win and now to get that and a first round bye in the playoffs they have to beat the Broncos and have the Oakland Raiders beat the Kansas City Chiefs. The loss to the Ravens snapped L.A.’s four-game win streak, but in this game, they face a slumping Broncos team that is out of the playoffs.
Denver lost their third in a row in their last game and in losing three in a row none of the losses came against a team with a winning record. Their offense has hit the skids and in their last three games they have failed to score over 16 points. They beat the Chargers earlier in the season in L.A. where they were outgained in yards, but had two turnovers and did not commit any. Quarterback Case Keenum has four interceptions in the last two games and on top of that starting running back Phillip Lindsay is out with a wrist injury.
The Chargers will avenge their earlier season loss to the Broncos by winning this game and covering the spread in Mile High City.

New York Jets vs. New England Patriots
The Jets are coming off an overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers where they gave up 44 points.
They have lost two in a row and in their last three games their offense has been pretty good averaging 27.7 points per game. Quarterback Sam Darnold has played well as of late and he will be facing the weakness of the Patriots’ defense, which is their pass defense that only ranks 23rd in the league.
The Patriots can win the number two seed in the AFC with a win in this game or if the Houston Texans lose their season finale to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their snapped their two-game losing streak with a win in their last game and while their offense has not been lighting it up in the last few games Brady and company will be solid in this game.
While the total has gone Under in the last five games between these teams that trend will end in this game. Darnold will have another solid game, but the New York defense will not. Brady will light up the Jets and they will get the win in a high scoring affair, which is why the Over is the smart pick.
