Both the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears are 2-1 in what is arguably the toughest division in the NFL this season.

All four teams in NFC North have a winning record after three rounds and while there is a lot of football to play, the loser of this game will be in a big early-season hole.

The Vikings are coming off a convincing 34-14 win over the Oakland Raiders and even with Kirk Cousins under center, the team has leaned on the run and ranks second in the league in rushing yards per game.

The Bears’ offense struggled in their first two games before scoring 31 points against the winless Washington Redskins, who have a notoriously poor defense. Chicago are led by Khalil Mack and a defense that is only giving up an average of 13 ppg.

The Bears won both games against the Vikings last season and have covered the spread in their last four games against their division foe.

The key to Minnesota’s win over Oakland was a ground game that yielded 211 rushing yards and held the Raiders to only 88. Dalvin Cook leads the NFL in rushing with 375 yards, 110 of which came in last week’s win.

Cousins passed for 174 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. While the Vikings have a great WR duo in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, they have pounded the rock on the ground and rank second-last in the league in passing yards per game. Minnesota may go to the air more in this game, as the Chicago run defense is one of the best in the league while their pass defense has given up an average of 245 passing yards per game.

The Bears are coming off a 31-15 Monday night win over the Redskins where they forced five turnovers. They outscored the Redskins 28-3 in the first half and held them to 69 rushing yards.

Mitchell Trubisky passed for 231 yards with three touchdowns and a pick, while Taylor Gabriel and Allen Robinson combined for 135 receiving yards. David Montgomery rushed for 67 yards to lead Chicago and while they looked pretty good on offense in the win over Washington there are still big question marks with Trubisky.

Minnesota’s defense has been solid on the season and they had four sacks in their last game.
