The La Liga Matchweek 27 soccer betting card is stacked, with two matches between top-six teams as Real Madrid hosts Real Sociedad and Real Betis hosts Atletico Madrid. We’ll take a look at those two bouts as well as Barcelona’s road game against Elche in this week’s La Liga best bets.

Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad

Real Madrid (18-6-2) earned a 1-0 victory on the road over Rayo Vallecano last Saturday, improving to 4-2-0 over its last six matches and to 13-4-1 over its last 18 matches. Madrid has not allowed a goal in any of its last four matches, outscoring those opponents 5-0 in the process. Real Sociedad (12-8-6) is now 4-3-1 over its last eight matches after defeating Mallorca 2-0 on Wednesday. Sociedad has allowed its opponents zero goals in six of its last seven matches.

With both of these clubs playing so brilliantly on defense, there aren’t too many paths to this game going OVER its posted total of 2.5 goals. Real Madrid is always capable of stepping up with a big performance on offense, especially at home. But we think it’s far more likely that Madrid takes an early one-goal lead and rides its defense to a 1-0 or 2-0 victory at home, cashing in on the UNDER in the process.

Elche vs Barcelona

Barcelona (12-9-4) is undefeated since December 4 with a 6-4-0 record over its last 10 matches. The club has scored 14 goals over its last four matches and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored four in Barcelona’s last two games. Elche (7-8-11) just suffered a 3-0 loss on the road to Levante on Friday. The club has lost two straight on the road but is 3-0-0 in its last three matches at home.

We’re leaning towards the OVER 2.75 goals in this matchup. These two clubs produced five goals in Barcelona’s 3-2 win at home earlier this season and Barcelona’s offense is in even better form now than it was then. Barcelona likely wins this one, but the price on both the three-way line and the spread are a bit too steep, so we’ll follow the value and take the OVER here.

Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid

Real Betis (14-4-8) was 4-0-1 over its previous five matches before suffering a 2-1 loss on the road against Sevilla last Sunday. Atletico Madrid (13-6-7) meanwhile has compiled back-to-back wins for the first time since November with its latest wins over Celta Vigo and Osasuna. Atletico went 3-6-1 in the 10 games prior to this current two-game winning streak.

When these two teams last met, Atletico Madrid won comfortably in a 3-0 victory at home. But it’s worth noting that Madrid is much better at home than it is on the road with an 8-3-2 record compared to a 5-3-5 record. More recently, Atletico Madrid is just 1-1-4 over its last six road games. Atletico Madrid may be the slightly more talented team, but there isn’t enough of a gap between these two clubs to pass on Real Betis as a big home underdog in this spot.
