Norwich City Football Club has announced a lucrative sponsorship arrangement with LeoVegas.com.

At a press event on Monday, executives from both parties expressed excitement over an official partnership that will for three years.

“We are delighted to welcome LeoVegas as our principal partner for the next three seasons, and as such they are making a vital commitment to Norwich City,” said Norwich City’s managing director, Steve Stone.

“It has been a positive summer for the club commercially, and this lucrative partnership with LeoVegas will generate vital income into Norwich City.

“We very much look forward to working with them for the next three seasons.”

The news comes shortly after LeoVegas penned a similar agreement with Brentford – one of Norwich’s rivals in the English Championship.

The Scandinavia-based mobile betting and casino gaming brand is also an official partner of Leicester Tigers, the English Premiership rugby union club.

“We’re very excited to be partnering with Norwich City, and this is a deal that cements LeoVegas’ presence in UK sport,” said Jon Sinclair, the UK head of LeoVegas.

“We’re delighted to be working alongside the Canaries at the start of an exciting new era both on and off the pitch, and can’t wait for the new season to get started.

“After being recognised as the king of mobile casino, we wanted to recreate this passion for sports and launched a super-fast seamless mobile betting app built for the mobile generation.

“At LeoVegas we pride ourselves on our commitment to responsible gaming and will be working closely with the club throughout our partnership to ensure this continues.”

The company’s expansion into the football market coincides with some intriguing developments in the relationship between betting firms and the sporting community in Britain.

The Football Association broke all commercial ties with the gambling industry last week as result of recent betting scandals within the English professional soccer ranks.

That included the termination of a £4 million-per-year partnership with leading bookmaker Ladbrokes.
