Betting Line: LSU -2.5
Over/Under: 44 points at 888 Sportsbook
LSU and the Florida Gators meet on Saturday in what’s a fascinating NCAA football match as far as odds and far-reaching national title ambitions go.
LSU is the fifth-ranked team in the nation and they have run the table with five wins, including beating two ranked teams. They routed Ole Miss in their last game and they have a solid offense, but where they shine is on defense, ranking 12th in the nation, giving up an average of 15 points per game.
To say LSU is starting a tough stretch is an understatement. Two of its next three games the college will face second-ranked Georgia and top-ranked Alabama. At least both of those games are at home.
After losing their second game of the season Florida has reeled off three-straight wins and they beat a ranked Mississippi State team in their last game. Their offense combined for 95 points in their two wins after their loss to Kentucky and in their last game they were great on defense beating MSU 13-6. This game HUGE for both teams and the Gators already have a SEC loss.
This season LSU is 5-0 SU with an ATS record of 3-2 and an O/U record of 3-2 and Florida is 4-1 with an ATS record of 4-1 and an O/U record of 2-3.
The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven games between these SEC rivals.
Last season at Florida the Tigers beat the Gators 17-16 in a defensive battle where they rushed for 214 yards.
LSU is coming off a 45-16 blowout win over Ole Miss where they racked up 573 yards and had a balanced offensive attack. Joe Burrow passed for 292 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and at least four Tigers had at least 42 receiving yards. LSU rushed for 281 yards in the game with several players chiming in in the backfield and while Nick Brossette (481 yards 6 TD) rushed for 72 yards he was held to an average of 3.6 yards per carry.
This game sets up well for LSU on offense, as their strength is running the ball while the weakness of Florida is defending the run. The Gators rank 2nd in the nation in pass defense, but only 85th in run defense.
Florida knocked off a ranked Mississippi State team 13-6 in their last game where they held the Bulldogs to only 202 total yards. The Gators did commit the games only turnovers, but they had balance on offense and shut down the MSU passing game.
Feleipe Franks passed for 219 yards with no touchdowns and an interception and Lamical Perine led the Gators with 55 rushing yards. Franks may have to carry the load on offense in this game, as LSU is just the opposite of Florida. Their strength on defense is against the run while their weakness is their 79th ranked pass defense.

LSU vs. Florida betting prediction
Florida is hot, winning three in a row, but they will cool down in this game.
Even at home in the Swamp the Gators will struggle to move the chains, especially on the ground.
On the other side of the coin the Tigers will rack up the yards on the ground and that will be key in this game.
This game will be a low-scoring one and while Florida will not get blown out, they will not win either.
LSU will get the win and cover the spread, staying undefeated heading into their next game facing 2nd ranked Georgia.
