The Minnesota Vikings are searching for a fourth consecutive win as they host a battling Washington Redskins outfit in Minneapolis this Thursday.
The Redskins are coming off another loss where they were shut out at home, going down 9-0 to the San Francisco 49ers in torrential rains. Obviously, their offense struggled, and they are still sticking with QB Case Keenum as rookie Dwayne Haskins waits in the wings.

The Vikings have won three in a row and after taking a lot of heat Kirk Cousins has been great under center in the last couple of games. Minnesota have outscored their opponents 108-60 in their three-game winning streak and in their last game they beat the Detroit Lions 42-30. This will be Cousins’ first start against his former team in the Redskins, who he spent the first few seasons of his career.
Washington’s only win came against the winless Miami Dolphins. The Redskins are averaging 12.9 ppg on the season and giving up an average of 25.1 ppg, so it is little wonder they have lost six of seven games.
In the 9-0 loss to the 49ers in their last game the Redskins only had 154 yards of offense and they had costly mistakes. In a game marred by horrible weather they were penalized seven times, had a turnover when they were driving for a score, and they allowed San Francisco to convert seven of 16 third downs.

Keenum only passed for 77 yards in that game. He leads a Washington passing offense that ranks second to last in the league.
Adrian Peterson rushed for 81 yards against the 49ers, averaging 4.1 yards per carry, but his fumble as the Skins were driving for a score was a killer. He has rushed for 199 yards in his last two games and has a tall task facing a Minnesota run defense that ranks seventh in the league.
In the Vikings’ 42-30 win over the Lions in their last game they only gave up 81 rushing yards but gave up 352 passing yards. Cousins passed for 337 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions and has 10 touchdowns and only one interception in his last three games.
Stefon Diggs had 142 receiving yards in the Detroit win and has 307 receiving yards in his last two games. He and Adam Thielen make up one of the best WR duos in the league, but Thielen left the Lions game with a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable for this Thursday night game.
Minnesota RB Dalvin Cook leads the league in rushing yards and has at least 132 rushing yards in two of his last three games. He lit up the Lions with 142 rushing yards and two touchdowns and averaged a more than solid 5.7 yards per carry. Washington have to be worried about Cook, as the Skins rank a solid 12th in the league in pass defense but only 27th in run defense.
These teams met last in the 2017 season in Washington, where the Vikings beat the Redskins 38-30.
Minnesota Vikings -15.5 at -111.11 with Nags.bet
The Vikings are hot and the Redskins are not, to say the least. This game will get ugly quickly, as the Skins will struggle on offense and will not be able to contain Cook and Cousins. Look for a rout in this one, as Minnesota will crush the Redskins and cover at home for their fourth win in a row.
