Brazil World Cup Group E betting
It was no shock that Brazil dominated World Cup qualifying only losing one match and they scored 41 goals in 18 matches. The squad looks to get back to dominance on the world stage and also look to get over getting embarrassed at home in the last World Cup losing to Germany 7-1 in the finals. The Brazilians have a solid all-around team and with superstar Neymar up front they have a great attack. With the players such as Gabriel Jesus and Philippe Coutinho and Neymar opposing defenses will have a tough time containing Brazil and look for a lot of defensive packing when teams face them this summer.
Switzerland Group E odds
Switzerland has advanced to the knockout phase of the last two World Cups and they have a solid midfield and defense. Up front is the best player on the team in Xherdan Shaqiri and with he and Granit Xhaka and Ricardo Rodriguez on paper the squad has a pretty good attack, btu that has not been shown in recent friendlies with the exception of putting up six goals facing Panama, who are not playing this summer in Russia. The Swiss play a controlling game and their midfield has to be solid in the tournament and this is especially the case when they have a tall task in their first match of the World Cup facing Brazil.
Serbia Group E betting
Serbia has had fan issues off the pitch in trying to qualify for World Cups in the last few World Cups, but did not have them in the last qualifying round. They are led by Manchester United Nemanja Matic, who is an attacking midfielder and one of the team’s best playmakers. There is a lot of young talent on the Serbian team with the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Andrija Zivkovic, Marko Grujic, Milos Veljkovic, and Nemanja Maksimovic and they will have to step up this summer in Russia. The midfield is the strength of the squad and they have been up and down in recent friendlies. Their first match facing Costa Rica may be a must win still having to face Brazil and Switzerland, who are equally talented in the midfield.
Group E Costa Rica odds
Costa Rica were the darlings of the 2014 World Cup advancing to the quarterfinals where they lost to Holland in a shootout. They are a veteran led team that has one of the best defenses in the tournament. Los Ticos have a great defense and their offense comes from that defense with a great counter attack. The anchor of the defense is star goalie Keylor Navas from Real Madrid and he has a tall task this summer facing teams in Group D that can push the4 envelope on the attack, especially five-time champion Brazil. In their two first friendlies in 2018 they played two teams not in Russia this summer and lost to Tunisia. Can Costa Rica make a magical run like they did in 2014? Big question for a squad that has issues putting the ball in the back of the net.
