2019 NBA Wednesday betting tips – Blazers vs Nuggets Game 2 odds

NBA Playoffs May 1

NBA Playoffs May 1Portland Trailblazers vs. Denver Nuggets – 8pm EST, Pepsi Center, Denver – Denver leads 1-0

While the the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets get all of the attention in the second round of the Western Conference NBA Playoffs, the series between Denver and Portland is developing as a match-up for the ages.

Denver, which finished second in the conference and Portland, which finished fourth, both did it tough in the first round of the playoffs and both have ambitions on this year’s NBA title.

In game one it was the respective superstars of each ball club, Nikola Jokic and Dame Lillard, that put on one hell of a show, notching 37 and 39 points in arm wrestle that ended in an eight-point Denver victory.

Jokic’s dominance on the inside was telling late in the game and his ability to also hit three 3-point shots were able to spread the floor as Denver was able to hold on to the lead they built in the third period.

So what does Game 2 hold?

There’s no doubt Portland will need a better defensive effort out of Enes Kanter on Jokic, but in many ways, it’s like asking a kitten to do complex algebra — he’s just not capable.

Will Jokic and Lillard dominate again, or will the supporting cast have the final say?

Let’s take a look at the key betting markets:

Portland Trailblazers vs Denver Nuggets Game Two player specials & value tips

Points scored – Damian Lillard Over (+28.5) @ -123.46

Fresh off a 39-point effort in game 1, this 28.5-point line on offer for Dame looks like a gift from bookmakers.

Dame’s outside shot is falling, fuelling his MVP-like performance in the first round series, in which he averaged 32 points and led the Blazers past a dangerous OKC outfit.

While Denver continues to struggle to come up with a decent defensive option to stop him, Lillard is going to keep taking his shots. Take the overs here.

Made threes – Nikola Jokic over 1.5 @ +147

After making three triples from five attempts in the game one, you can be damn sure Jokic is going to put up a handful of long-balls again in Game 2, especially if Enes Kanter is defending him.

Jokic shoots a respectable 35% from the arch on his home court and will get every opportunity to help us cash in here.

Total assists – CJ McCollum over 3.5 @ +106

We’re tipping Dame Lillard to continue his attacking splurge, meaning that McCollum could take a back seat as more of a distributor in this game.

McCollum has three assists on the season per game and had three assists in game one, so we’re going backing in a slight improvement in this department for some improved odds.
