The Bears, Packers and Vikings are all in the running for the 2019 NFC North title.
The oddsmakers have NFC North as one of the tighter divisions in 2019, with the Bears, Packers, and Vikings all paying solid odds to win the division. Let’s take a look at the latest NFL betting lines and see how the teams are shaping up.

The Bears won the NFC North last season thanks to a defense that ranked third in the league and the continued maturation of Mitchell Trubisky. The WR corps does not have any big names but has plenty of young talent and the main issue for the offense will be the run game. Jordan Howard led the team in rushing last season but is gone and Tarik Cohen, third-round draft pick David Montgomery, and veteran addition Mike Davis will vie for carries this season. The defense is loaded and led by star Khalil Mack, who had a great first season in the Windy City. Chicago ran away with the division last season, but the Packers have Aaron Rodgers back and healthy and the Vikings are in year two with Kirk Cousins, so they have their work cut out for them.

The Packers fired long-time head coach Mike McCarthy and brought in Matt LaFleur to get the team back in the NFL Playoffs. To do that they need a healthy Aaron Rodgers, as when he goes down so do Green Bay. He has weapons such as the RB duo of Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones and WR Davante Adams, but he has to stay on the field. The Packers used their first two picks in the draft to help a defense that ranked 18th last season and there are many new faces on that side of the ball. Talk about a tough early season schedule – Green Bay have to face the Bears, Vikings, Cowboys, and Eagles in four of their first five games.

The Vikings missed the playoffs in their first season with Kirk Cousins under center and while he passed for nearly 4,300 yards it was still seen as a disappointment. Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen each had over 1,000 receiving yards, but the run game was one of the worst in the league. Dalvin Cook led the team with only 615 rushing yards and he may split time with third-round pick Alexander Mattison in the backfield. They re-signed TE Kyle Rudolph and the defense, which ranked fourth in the league last season, should still be solid, but for Minnesota to win the division they need Cousins to have a more consistent season.

The Lions are the long shots in the NFC North betting markets after going 6-10 last season. Matthew Stafford needs to regroup after a bad season and has a couple of new weapons with TE Jesse James and WR Danny Amendola. Kerryon Johnson led the team with 641 rushing yards and missed six games, so he was a big spark last season when on the field. The Detroit defense was actually pretty good in 2018, ranking 10th in the league, and they made a good addition in the off-season by adding DE Trey Flowers. The Lions have a tough road early in the campaign, as after their season opener against the Cardinals they face the Chargers, Eagles, Chiefs, Packers, and Vikings.
