The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) recently revealed the state’s gaming industry raked in over $450 million in October, which is an increase of about 6% from the previous year.

The total amount of gross gaming revenue (GGR) that was garnered by the state’s 16 traditional casinos, as well as their respective internet casinos, retail and online sportsbooks, video gaming terminals (VGTs), and fantasy sports channels, was $450.23 million. This is a $24.3 million improvement over the month of October 2021.

The growth can be attributed to Pennsylvania’s online casino gambling industry, which set a new benchmark for success in the state.

The sixteen venues recorded a decline in table wins of more than 10 percent and a drop in retail slot income of 2%. Slot machines brought in $199 million, while table games brought in $79.9 million.

The Hollywood Casino at Penn National came in top with a total revenue of $68.7 million, an increase of 20.4%; it was trailed by the Valley Forge Casino Resort, which brought in $56.5 million (an increase of 31.7%), and the Parx Casino, which brought in $54.9 million (a decrease of 4.2%).
Rivers Casino Philadelphia comes in at number five on the list with a total gaming revenue of $49.1 million, while Wind Creek Bethlehem comes next with $43.8 million.

Following the aforementioned, the other top 10 operators’ contributions include:

  • Hollywood Casino at the Meadows ($23.2 million)
  • Rivers Casino Pittsburgh ($31.7 million)
  • Live! Casino Philadelphia ($23 million)
  • Mount Airy Casino Resort ($21 million)
  • Mohegan Pennsylvania ($19.8 million)

Online gaming as a whole brought in approximately $124.4 million, with interactive tables and online poker fees contributing $38.1 million to the total. Online slots brought in $86.3 million.

The numbers for November and December are most likely going to be hiked as well, especially in online wagering, due to the bets that will be garnered from the World Cup in Qatar.
