NFL Divisional Round betting picks & top props – January 21

NFL Playoffs betting picks

The NFL playoff field has been whittled down from 14 teams to eight, and all will feel like they have a legitimate chance at the Super Bowl. This weekend’s Divisional Round will feature four games played over two days, and each matchup is full of intrigue. On Saturday, both no.1 seeds will be in action, and while both games have a spread over a touchdown, last weekend showed us anything can happen. Here are our best bets for Saturday’s slate.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Kansas City Chiefs

Spread pick: Jaguars +8.5

The Chiefs are clearly a better team in this matchup. They finished with an impressive 14-3 record, while the Jags finished at 9-8. That being said, this is far too many points. The Jags have been impressive in recent weeks, winning eight of their last 10 games. The main reason for that is their star quarterback, Trevor Lawrence. He has clearly leveled up and is approaching the elite tier of QBs. He showed tremendous grit as he led the Jags to a win in the Wild Card round, where he threw four interceptions in the first half and was down 27 points at one time. He appears to have shaken the nerves out and should be in line for a big game. While we think the Chiefs win this game, they are only 7-10 against the spread this season and Jacksonville should play within the number for the majority of this contest.

Jaguars TD scorer pick: Evan Engram

Evan Engram is the tight end for the Jaguars and has become a huge part of their offense. While he was underperforming at the start of the season, Engram closed the year strongly and became a safety blanket of sorts for Lawrence. Engram has four touchdowns in his past seven games and has established himself as a reliable redzone target. His combination of size and speed is a unique problem for defenses and the Chiefs can be beaten through the air. At these odds, this is a great bet on a guy who should be heavily targeted all game long.

Chiefs TD scorer pick: Kadarius Toney

Kadarius Toney, much like Engram, has really come on strong toward the end of the season. The dynamic wide receiver was traded to the Chiefs midseason and didn’t really see the field until Week 13. Since then, however, he has tallied three touchdowns despite missing two of those games due to injury. The Chiefs want to get the ball in his hands as he is a receiver who gets carries and also returns punts. His speed is borderline unstoppable at times and he is surprisingly tough to bring down given his size. At around +240 with the top betting sites, this is a great bet on a guy who will get designed touches around the endzone.

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles

Spread pick: Eagles -7.5

In this divisional battle, the Eagles should roll through an overachieving Giants team. The Giants lost to the Eagles twice in the regular season, and while New York looked improved in their playoff win last weekend, that was against one of the worst defenses in the league. In this battle, the Eagles will be fresh due to their bye week and will present a substantially tougher challenge for the Giants’ offense. Philadelphia will look to suffocate their opponents and run all over them with their impressive rushing offense. While it is a lot of points for a playoff game, take the Eagles to win big and advance into the NFC Championship Game with a lot of confidence.

Eagles TD scorer pick: DeVonta Smith

The Giants will spend a lot of focus on A.J. Brown, and that should free up DeVonta Smith down the field. The talented receiver has played extremely well in recent weeks and had four touchdowns over his final six games of the regular season. Philly quarterback Jalen Hurts has been rushing less due to a shoulder injury and that has allowed the Philly receivers to see more work. In this game, with a high over/under, we expect Smith to be heavily involved, and at +135 with Bovada, we recommend wagering on him to score.

Giants TD scorer pick: Daniel Jones

The New York Giants’ athletic quarterback has been running the ball at a very high rate in recent weeks. In his playoff win against the Minnesota Vikings last weekend, Daniel Jones had a whopping 17 carries, and while he didn’t score, he had a touchdown called back due to a holding penalty. Jones’ rushing acumen is clearly part of the Giants’ gameplan, and now that it’s the playoffs, we expect the Giants to lean on Jones’ legs. He scored seven times in the regular season and should add one more in this spot. There’s not a lot you can do when Jones gets going and it may be the only thing that works on this stellar Eagles’ defense.
