Amelco has become one of the first gambling operators to launch a sportsbook in Ohio, which opened its regulated sports betting industry on January 1.
The company is now active in 12 states in the US and has plans to add two more to the list, namely Massachusetts and Maryland. Amelco has disclosed that it feels confident about making progress in these regions; hence, it has bookmarked them on its radar for when both states finally launch. Massachusetts will be opening its sports betting market in a few days.
According to the Head of Amelco USA, Brandon Walker, the Ohio launch marks the beginning of the company’s ambiguous expansion plan.
“This is another major steppingstone in Amelco’s extensive plans for expansion in the US, and we look forward to bringing our offering to an increased audience of sports bettors,” he said.
“We expect excitement to only increase, and we are really interested to see what the numbers are going to look like over the course of the next few months. In terms of our product, no one-offers a full service, end-to-end solution like we do at Amelco. We deliver everything under one roof which no other provider can do.”
In the past few weeks, 16 companies have launched Ohio sports betting operations, some of which include the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Guardians. This past weekend, the Buckeye State also recorded more betting transactions than New York. Since it launched on New Year’s Day, the state has had about 11 million sports betting transactions.
