AFC North 2023-24 betting picks & season preview

In the 2023-24 NFL season, the AFC North projects to be one of the best divisions in the league. The Cincinnati Bengals won it last year with a 12-4 record, but every team improved around them. Here are the best NFL future betting picks for the AFC North.

Cincinnati Bengals

+120 at Bovada

The defending AFC North champions are +120 favorites to win the division again. While the Bengals should once again be a very solid team, they simply do not present the value that their rivals do.

Cincinnati will largely return the same roster that made it to the AFC Championship Game and they should be a powerhouse. But with the rest of the division getting better, the Bengals may not be able to repeat as the top team. Avoid them for now.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Raven have unequivocally improved since last season, when an injury-riddled team limped to a 10-7 record. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson missed five games last year and should be back to full health. That alone will make the Ravens better, but they have also drastically improved his offensive weapons.

The Ravens brought in Odell Beckham Jr and drafted wide receiver Zay Flowers with their first-round pick. These receivers will add an extra element to the Ravens offense and that, combined with Jackson’s scrambling ability, will give Baltimore’s opponents nightmares. The Ravens are -102 to win over 10.5 games and that’s a great value bet. The Ravens should be all the way back to their 2019 level, where they won 14 games.

Cleveland Browns

+370 at Bovada

The Cleveland Browns finished last year with a 7-10 record, but that was a campaign filled with a lot of drama. Before last season, the Browns traded for much-maligned quarterback Deshaun Watson. This year, those off-field distractions should be less of a factor, and if Watson can return to an elite level, watch out.

That being said, the Browns should be paying more than +370 to win the division. When you factor in their competition, they don’t stack up very well, and while the Browns have a high ceiling, they have an equally low floor. The Browns will be a scrappy team but will struggle to maintain consistency. They are a team to avoid placing futures on.

Pittsburgh Steelers

+525 at Bovada

The Pittsburgh Steelers finished last year with a 9-8 record. They haven’t finished with more losses than wins since 2003 and they are set up to have an equally mediocre season this year.

Kenny Pickett, their quarterback, will look to take a jump entering his sophomore season. The offensive talent, combined with some superstar defenders, make the Steelers an interesting team that won’t take any games off. Their win total is at 8.5 games and the over is -150 with the top NFL betting sites. While those odds are short, this team should cover that over with relative ease as the Steelers fight to return to the playoffs.
