Jadeveon Clowney, the standout outside linebacker and prized NFL free agent, has finally made his decision about his next destination. He announced that he would be joining the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. Clowney is expected to be a key contributor to a Ravens defense that struggled with injuries last year and couldn’t fulfill its potential.
While the three-time Pro Bowler is 30 years old, he remains a physical talent capable of instantly altering the course of a game. In the previous year, Clowney faced challenges in securing playing time with the Cleveland Browns, resulting in a mere two sacks. However, in the year prior, the former first overall pick had nine sacks.
Clowney immediately became the most prolific linebacker on their roster. Despite the presence of promising young talent in that position, Clowney has demonstrated his ability to dominate, setting him apart from other unproven options. His career total of 43 sacks surpasses the combined count of sacks held by all of the Ravens’ linebackers throughout their careers.
With Clowney now in the fold, the Ravens’ odds of winning the Super Bowl have shifted to +1800, and they stand at +225 to claim the AFC North title with Bovada. Additionally, Baltimore has a season-long win projection of 10.5 wins. Expectations are soaring in Baltimore, and with this signing, their fans will feel even more confident. The Ravens will kick off their season with a home game against the Houston Texans, entering the contest as 9.5-point favorites.
