The 2023 Formula 1 season is set to continue this weekend with a return to Qatar, marking the first time since its inaugural race in 2021. This event, one of six sprint weekends scheduled for 2023, provides Max Verstappen has the opportunity to secure his third consecutive championship title after an overwhelmingly dominant performance throughout the year.
In the previous race in Japan, Verstappen maintained his impressive form, leading from the start to the finish and securing a perfect 26 points. Unfortunately, his closest rival and teammate, Sergio Perez, couldn’t complete the race. However, the real standout in that race was the McLaren team, which achieved its first dual podium finish since 2021. This feat included a historic first-career podium for rookie Oscar Piastri.
Lewis Hamilton, a previous winner in Qatar, faces a different challenge this weekend as he attempts to catch up with second-placed Sergio Perez in the drivers’ championship. Mercedes also aims to fend off the improving Ferrari team for the second spot in the constructors’ championship.

Given the track’s extended straights and numerous opportunities for overtaking, it appears highly probable that Max Verstappen will emerge victorious in both the primary race and the sprint event. However, as these wagers may not yield substantial returns when placed with the leading online betting sites, we explore alternative betting markets within the rest of the field.
With the Qatar track’s long straights favoring Ferrari’s recent improvements, it’s likely that both Ferrari drivers will secure top-six finishes.
Lando Norris has consistently performed well for McLaren, and on a track with fast-speed corners, he’s expected to be in contention for another podium.
Despite recent struggles, Alexander Albon has exceeded expectations, and the Qatar track’s long straight sections could favor his chances of earning points.
