Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints NFL odds & teaser tips
Betting Line: Saints -8.5
Over/Under: 54.5 points at 888 Sportsbook
What’s up with the Philadelphia Eagles?
The Eagles are coming off a loss at home, have lost two of their last three games and are under .500 at 4-5.
The defending Super Bowl champions are tied with the Dallas Cowboys in second place in the NFC East two games back of the Washington Redskins and a big match against the New Orleans Saints awaits.
Carson Wentz has played well since coming back, but the Eagles offense only ranks 21st in the league in points per game and the run game has struggled since Jay Ajayi was lost for the season due to an injury.
Philly’s defense has been solid on the season, but they did give up 27 points in their last game and while the run defense is the strength of the unit they allowed 171 rushing yards in their last game.
The Saints keep on chugging, as they have won eight games in a row since they lost their first game of the season. The offense is the highest scoring one in the league and they lit up the Cincinnati Bengals for 51 points in their last game.
These teams have not faced each other since the 2015 season.
This season the Eagles are 3-6 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 4-5 with the Saints at 7-2 ATS with an Over/Under record of 5-4.
The Eagles were at home in their last game and fell below .500 with a 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Wentz passed for 360 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and tight end Zach Ertz had 145 receiving yards and had two touchdowns. Philadelphia struggled to run the ball, yet again, and Josh Adams was the leader with 47 rushing yards. The run game is key in this game, as while Wentz has played well I the Eagles can run they are a much better team. However, they have only totaled 129 yards on the ground in their two losses in their last three games.
New Orleans has a Jekyll and Hyde defense, as they rank first in the NFL defending the run, but second to last defending the pass.
In their last game, the Saints were on the road and they embarrassed the Cincinnati Bengals beating them 51-14. They were up 35-7 at halftime and they had over 500 total yards of offense and their defense played well only giving up 284 total yards.
Drew Brees has to be one of the frontrunners for the MVP and in the win over the Bengals he passed for 265 yards with three touchdowns and he was not picked off. Michael Thomas ranks second in the league in receiving yards and in the blowout win over Cincy he had 70 receiving yards. Running back Alvin Kamara rushed for 56 yards and had two touchdowns and he also had 46 receiving yards.
This is not a good matchup for the Philadelphia defense, as their weakness is defending the pass only ranking 23rd in the league in that category. That has to be worrisome facing Brees, who has five touchdowns and no interceptions in his last two games. Recently signed wide receiver Dez Bryant was lost for the season due to an Achilles injury and the team signed veteran Brandon Marshall, who is yet another weapon for Brees.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints betting prediction
All four of the Eagles’ wins this season have come against teams that currently have a losing record.
The Saints are certainly not a struggling team at 9-1 and instead are one of the Super Bowl favourites this year.
The Saints have covered the spread in seven straight games and in the Big Easy this Sunday afternoon they will keep that betting streak alive for us.
Brees will get it done, leading New Orleans to a win and they will also cover the spread in their house.
