The Philadelphia Eagles won their last three games of the 2018 NFL season to sneak the last Wild Card spot in the NFC. Like last season the team heads into the playoffs with backup Nick Foles guiding the team, but unlike last season they are on the road as a Wild Card entry. Philly used a more balanced offense with Foles as the quarterback and while the defense against the pass was pretty bad for most of the season they played better in the last few games.

The Bears come into this game hot, as they won their last four games of the regular season. In that span they only gave up an average of 10.5 points per game and, overall, the team is led by a defense that ranks third in the league.

This season the Bears are 7-1 at home and the Eagles are 4-4 on the road.

The Eagles dominated in their last game of the regular season, beating the Washington Redskins 24-0 on the road where they held the Skins to only 89 total yards. Foles passed for 221 yards with a touchdown and interception, but had to leave the game with a rib injury. However, it was not a major one and he has been cleared to play this weekend. Foles has some weapons on the outside, such as Alshon Jeffrey, and Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams combined for 103 rushing yards in the season-ending win over Washington.

Chicago not only rank first in the NFL in run defense and seventh in pass defense, but also tied for second with the most sacks. Khalil Mack is the star of the Bears’ defense and he finished the season with 12.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and also had an interception.

In their last game of the season the Bears beat Minnesota Vikings 24-10 to keep them out of the playoffs. The Chicago defense stepped up, holding the Vikings to 164 total yards and only 63 rushing yards.

In the Vikings game Chicago quarterback Mitchell Trubisky passed for 163 yards with no TD and he did not have an interception. Jordan Howard led the Bears in rushing this season and in the last game he had 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Trubisky has made strides in his sophomore season under center and last season as a rookie in the loss to the Eagles he had two interceptions, did not have any touchdowns, and only passed for 147 yards. Howard also was less than stellar in that game with only six rushing yards on seven carries.

The Eagles’ run defense ranks seventh in the league, but while their secondary played better in their last few games their pass defense still only ranks 30th.
