After saluting in Dubai, the Russian teenager has firmed for the next major on the tennis calendar.
Mirra Andreeva claimed her maiden WTA 1000 title in Dubai on Sunday, leading tennis bookmakers to shorten her odds of winning the 2025 French Open.
The Russian cracked a new career-high ranking of No.9 in the world off the back of her victory over Clara Tauson in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships.
With a win-loss record of 13-3 in 2025 so far, Andreeva sits at No.4 in the race to the WTA Finals.
As a result, Nags.bet now has the 17-year-old at +1400 to win the year’s next major in Paris, behind Iga Swiatek (-175.44), Aryna Sabalenka (+400), Coco Gauff ([rm_geo_odd val=8]) and Elena Rybakina (+1200).
Andreeva herself has had to make an adjustment following her breakthrough victory.
“I set a goal for myself to be top 10 by the end of the year,” Andreeva said on-court after beating Tauson 7-6(1), 6-1 in the Dubai final.
“It’s just February and I have already made it, so this is something incredible for me.”
Andreeva went on to explain that her goal is now to crack the world’s top five by the end of the season — something that will likely require her to win multiple titles in 2025.
“I think it’s going to be hard to enter the top five,” she said.
“This is the exact goal that I’m going to set for myself, to be top five by the end of the year.
“I’m very curious if I will be able to achieve it.
“When you enter the top 10 and the higher your ranking is, the slower and longer it’s going to take for you to be even higher because the difference in the points is very, very short, very small.”
While tennis betting sites are high on Andreeva heading into the French Open, her odds of winning Wimbledon (+2200) or the US Open (+2000) remain conservative.
Andreeva will next take to the court in Indian Wells in March, where she will seek to claim back-to-back WTA 1000 titles.
