Formula 1 heads to Florida for round five of the 2025 season, and the grid is locked in for the Miami Grand Prix with Max Verstappen on pole, Lando Norris starting P2, and rookie Kimi Antonelli pulling off a stunning P3 result in his best weekend to date.
The race begins at 4:00pm EST on Sunday, May 4 with rain forecast and strategy likely to play a huge role at the Miami International Autodrome.
Max Verstappen was back to his blistering best on Saturday night, laying down a dominant Q3 lap to claim pole. But the Dutchman will have Lando Norris right on his tail — and full of confidence after winning the Sprint earlier in the weekend at $3.00 with Nags.bet.
With rain threatening, the track could produce chaos — much like the Sprint, where Norris capitalized on a well-timed safety car to claim his first short-format victory of the season.
Kimi Antonelli was the standout story from qualifying. The 18-year-old Mercedes rookie outpaced both Ferraris and teammate George Russell to line up P3. He was unlucky in the Sprint — finishing P7 after getting caught out by changing conditions — but looks poised to challenge for a maiden podium in the main event.
McLaren and Red Bull share favoritism going into Sunday’s race, with Oscar Piastri still a looming threat from P4.
