The Great American Getaway NASCAR

The NASCAR Cup Series returns to the United States on Sunday, June 22, for the Great American Getaway 400 at Pennsylvania’s iconic Pocono Raceway. Nicknamed The Tricky Triangle, this 2.5-mile, three-turn circuit is unlike anything else on the schedule — long straights, flat banking, and three completely unique corners demand elite setup work, high-speed bravery, and strategic brilliance.

It’s the only trip to Pocono this year and comes at a pivotal time: just 10 races remain before the playoffs begin. Denny Hamlin (+560) leads the betting market at the top online sportsbooks and headlines the weekend after sitting out last week’s Mexico City race to welcome the birth of his son. A seven-time Pocono winner, Hamlin has been dominant in the Next Gen era and looks to extend his legacy.

Defending race winner Ryan Blaney returns with momentum, while Kyle Larson and William Byron sit 1–2 in overall speed rankings this season, anchoring a red-hot Hendrick Motorsports team that has three of the top four drivers in the standings.

The Great American Getaway 400 will air live on Amazon Prime at 2pm ET, with qualifying and final practice set for Saturday at 12:30pm ET on the same platform.

Nascar Pocono betting predictions

Denny Hamlin to win

Few drivers dominate a track like Denny Hamlin does at Pocono. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has won seven times here, including two of the last three races (one disqualification aside). He’s topped the Next Gen speed rankings at this circuit, ranks #1 in average finish, and has finished inside the top five in seven of the last eight Pocono events. Coming off a race absence for personal reasons, the “baby boost” narrative may also be in play. If he stays clean, Hamlin’s elite track record should carry him back to Victory Lane at +560 odds with Stake.com.

William Byron top-three finish

Byron leads all drivers in 2025 Cup Series points and stage points, boasting 11 top-10s and the best average finish at Pocono in the Next Gen era (9.36). He’s been fast on all intermediates and currently ranks first in overall speed for the season. While he’s yet to win here, Pocono suits his measured, consistent driving style. At +220, a podium finish is excellent value at Stake.com.

Ty Gibbs top-five finish

Ty Gibbs has been quietly red-hot and enters Pocono with two top-five speed rankings in his last two visits here. He was unlucky in Mexico City after dominating a stage, but Pocono’s technical demands play to his strengths. His recent uptick in form and JGR’s dominance at this venue (7 of the last 10 wins) give the rising star a legitimate shot at a breakout run. A top-five at +300 is a sharp value play at 888starz.
