Fabio Quartararo grabs pole for Dutch MotoGP 2025. See odds, starting grid, and top betting picks for Sunday’s race at Assen.
Fabio Quartararo shocked the paddock on Saturday by storming to pole position for the Motul Grand Prix of the Netherlands, stopping the clock at 1:30.651. The Yamaha star edged out Francesco Bagnaia by just 0.028 seconds to grab his first pole of the year, while Álex Márquez starts from P3 after a tight qualifying fight.
Marc Márquez, the pre-weekend favourite with top sportsbooks, will line up fourth on the Ducati, setting up a thrilling opening lap at Assen’s legendary high-speed complex. Further down, Marco Bezzecchi (P5) and Franco Morbidelli (P6) showed strong one-lap pace, while Pedro Acosta qualified ninth and will look to work forward on Sunday.
With the main race on Sunday at 2:00pm CEST, the market has shifted to reflect Quartararo’s surprise pole while keeping Ducati riders well in the frame.
Marc Márquez to win
He may start fourth, but the Ducati’s strength and Marc’s race pace make him the clear market leader. If he nails Turn 1, the -200 price could look generous in hindsight. Expect an early charge.
Francesco Bagnaia to win
Pecco launches from the front row and has the pace to fight for the win. Assen rewards consistent corner speed, and he has the craft to put the Ducati in clean air by mid-race. At +460, he’s a rock-solid second pick.
Fabio Quartararo to win
Quartararo starts from pole and will try to break away early. If Yamaha’s race pace holds together — and Assen often suits their high-corner-speed DNA — the +1100 price is a solid shot at an upset.
