Carlos Alcaraz last suffered a defeat at Wimbledon in 2022, when he was beaten by Jannik Sinner. As impressive as Andrey Rublev has been at the event so far, and as talented as he is, he is no Sinner.
That said, Rublev has defeated Alcaraz before, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility. However, with Alcaraz now on a 17-match winning streak on grass, we are confident the Spaniard will wrap this one up in straight sets.
He moves more naturally on the surface, possesses superior shot-making ability, is better suited to grass, and boasts a stronger track record overall. Take 888starz‘s modest odds of -125 for a three-set win.
Sunday brings an intriguing clash featuring one of Australia’s last hopes at Wimbledon. However, Taylor Fritz is the more superior player – both overall and on grass – than Jordan Thompson. The American simply has all the tools to play well on this surface and his track record has been excellent too.
Fritz’s form is on point this week as well and while Thompson has been amazing as well he should be no match for the No.5 seed. He does not have the serve nor the weapons to trouble him.
Karen Khachanov has once again proven himself to be one of the more consistent Grand Slam performers, having secured yet another fourth-round appearance at Wimbledon. His opponent, Kamil Majchrzak, is far less experienced at this stage, but has played like a man possessed since returning to the sport.
The pair have faced each other three times previously. Although Khachanov emerged victorious on each occasion, their last grass-court encounter was particularly close. Based on Majchrzak’s current form, it is not unreasonable to give him a chance to win this match. Tennis betting sites are certainly offering tempting odds, with a price of +210 for an upset with Stake.com.
Stranger things have certainly happened and Majchrzak unquestionably has the game to pull it off. After all, his run so far includes three highly impressive wins already and another one would not be out of place.
