Round 13 of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship takes us to the iconic Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix, where Lando Norris has claimed pole position with a blistering 1:40.562 in Q3. He’ll be joined on the front row by Oscar Piastri, while Charles Leclerc starts from third. The Grand Prix begins at 3pm local time in Spa-Francorchamps (CEST) / 11pm AEST Sunday
Norris on pole, Piastri chasing Sprint redemption
Norris was untouchable in Saturday qualifying, producing a dominant lap to secure pole and continue McLaren’s strong form.
His 0.085s gap to teammate Piastri capped off a clean sweep of the front row for the Woking squad, while Ferrari’s Leclerc lines up P3 after one of his strongest showings in recent weeks.
But it was Saturday’s Sprint race that set the tone for Sunday’s storyline. Piastri started the Sprint from pole but was overtaken early by Max Verstappen, who went on to win the shortened contest.
On Sunday, Piastri will be hoping to flip the script and do to Verstappen what Verstappen did to him — strike early and control the race from the front.
Verstappen starts fourth after a small mistake in Sector 2 cost him a shot at the front row. He’ll have work to do from there, especially with both McLarens ahead and Spa being one of the more unpredictable circuits on the calendar.
