Friday, September 12 – 8:45pm CEST – Orange Vélodrome
Marseille’s attack should generate plenty of chances at home, where their tempo and set-piece threat typically are at the forefront. Lorient’s defense has leaked chances and got towelled up 7-1 by Lille before the international break. Even if this turns into a tight affair, Marseille should have enough class to get the job done with relative ease.
Saturday, September 13 – 5pm CEST – Allianz Riviera
Nice matches are averaging three total goals through three weeks, and two of three have already cleared 2.5; they’ve also kept zero clean sheets while conceding 1.67 goals per game. While Nantes’ games have each produced only a single goal, the clash with Strasbourg last time out had more decent chances than the 1-0 scoreline might suggest. Taken together — with Nice’s leaky defense and tempo at home — goals are expected here.
Saturday, September 13 – 9:05pm CEST – Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps
Monaco attack mainly down the left, where Ansu Fati can cut inside onto his right. Auxerre’s right-back struggles on quick switches, opening cutback lanes to the penalty spot — Fati’s sweet spot. Monaco are aggressive in midfield in terms of intercepts, giving him quick, clean looks before the defense sets up.
Sunday, September 14 – 3pm CEST – Stade Pierre-Mauroy
Lille pump steady service from wide areas, and Olivier Giroud lives off those crosses. Toulouse’s defense often gets stretched on switches, leaving gaps between the center back and fullback. With volume from open play and set pieces, one clean delivery should see Giroud finding the back of the net.
Sunday, September 14 – 5:15pm CEST – Parc des Princes
PSG have two clean sheets in three league matches, signaling a sturdy early-season defense. They held Nantes to no shots on target while owning 71% possession, and they posted 76% possession in the 6–3 win at Toulouse — evidence of strong territorial control. Lens have scored lately, but away at Le Havre they generated only six shots, and that volume likely shrinks at the Parc des Princes against PSG’s press.
Sunday, September 14 – 5:15pm CEST – Stade de la Meinau
Strasbourg games at home often open up after halftime, with six of the seven goals in their matches coming in the second half. Le Havre attack set pieces hard and crash the box for follow-up opportunities, which can leave space the other way. Both teams can be shaky against crosses, and if there’s an early goal, we can expect an end-to-end contest.
Sunday, September 14 – 5:15pm CEST – Stade Francis-Le Blé
Brest at home are direct and relentless: quick pressure, early crosses, and plenty of entries from wide areas. Paris FC tend to leave space behind their fullbacks when they try to counter. Brest also carry a clear edge on set pieces, which should matter in a tight game.
Sunday, September 14 – 5:15pm CEST – Stade Saint-Symphorien
Metz are a reasonable home play; early-season metrics point to a territory edge at Saint-Symphorien, with more final-third entries and corners than their opponents. Angers’ shot volume has been modest, and they concede a fair share of chances from crosses and restarts. In a match that could be tight, Metz’s set-piece edge tips it their way.
Sunday, September 14 – 8:45pm CEST – Roazhon Park
Rennes get the ball wide early and often, then fire in low crosses and cutbacks — chances that lead to quick shots inside the box. Lyon are built to hit back in transition and are always a threat on set pieces. Both backlines can be exposed when the tempo rises, so if either side scores first, this should open up into a goalfest.
