2019 NFL betting update: LA Rams to be tested in NFC West
The defending NFC champions, the Los Angeles Rams, have the best NFL betting lines to win the NFC West division this season, but oddsmakers have the Seahawks in the mix and the 49ers as well. Let’s see how the NFC West betting markets are shaping up for the 2019 NFL season.
LA Rams odds

The Rams are the defending NFC West and NFC champions and they are still loaded. Jared Goff is coming off a great campaign under center and gets WR Cooper Kupp back from injury to give the squad a solid WR corps. Todd Gurley rushed for 1,251 yards and had 580 receiving yards and is one of the best RBs in the game. The defense only ranked 19th in the league but showed what they could do in the Super Bowl loss, holding the Patriots to only 13 points. Aaron Donald is the two-time Defensive Player of the Year and while the Rams lost Mark Barron and Lamarcus Joyner, they added the veterans Eric Weddle and Clay Matthews. LA’s first three games are tough ones against the Panthers, Saints, and Browns, and two of those games are on the road.
Seattle Seahawks odds

The Seahawks still have Russell Wilson, who had a better than solid campaign last season, but the ‘Temple of Boom’ is no longer with Earl Thomas gone. Veteran WR Doug Baldwin is still in the fold, but the team is high on second-round draft pick D.K. Metcalf. Chris Carson rushed for 1,151 yards and 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny rushed for 419 yards, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. The run game will be the strength of the team again and they need to figure out a way to beat the Rams, which they could not do in two games last season. Seattle’s defense ranked a pedestrian 16th last term and while they traded Frank Clark, who had 35 sacks in four seasons, the team took L.J. Collier in the first round of the draft.
San Francisco 49ers odds

The 49ers were 4-12 on the season in 2018 and the wheels fell off when Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a season-ending injury. The team has high hopes in his second season in San Francisco and it helps that the team has arguably the best TE in the league in George Kittle and a good ground game led by Matt Breida and off-season addition Tevin Coleman. The WR corps is not the best and they could use another wideout, but if Garoppolo can stay on the field the offense should be solid. The defense ranked a respectable 13th in the league last year but still gave up the fifth-most points in the league. They used the second pick in the NFL Draft to take Nick Bosa and spent big money on Kwon Alexander and Dee Ford to help the defense.
Arizona Cardinals odds
+2800 at Bovada
The Cardinals were one and done with first-round draft pick Josh Rosen, shipping the QB to Miami after a single season and taking 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray with the top pick. Rookie head coach Kliff Kingsbury got his guy with Murray, but the WR corps is not the best with the aging Larry Fitzgerald leading the unit. David Johnson has to stay healthy and if he does, he will take a ton of pressure off Murray with his running and catching ability. The defense for Arizona did have a solid pass rush last season, and they added Terrell Suggs, but overall the unit only ranked 20th in the league. Still, all eyes will be on the undersized Murray, who has a big task taking over a Cardinals offense that ranked dead last in the NFL last season.
