Old SEC rivals Florida and Kentucky square off on Saturday in the first conference game for both teams. The ninth-ranked Gators are the eight-point road favorites, with the over/under line sitting at 50 points.

Florida may have some payback in mind, as they lost to Kentucky last season at home in the second game of the season when they were ranked 25th in the nation.

After a tough opening win over a solid Miami team, Florida throttled UT Martin 45-0 in their last game. The Gators dominated the game on both sides of the ball, outgaining UT Martin 543 to 194 yards, and held the Skyhawks to only 54 rushing yards. Feleipe Franks passed for 270 yards with two TD and was not picked off. Florida rushed for 231 yards with many RBs getting action and Lamical Perine led the team with 51 rushing yards.

The Gators will likely be without two of their better players for this game, as Kadarius Toney and CJ Henderson are both battling injuries.

Kentucky were great last season with their first 10-win campaign in forever, but not much is expected of them this year with some big losses on both sides of the ball. This is their first big test after beating Toledo and Eastern Michigan in their first two games.

The 38-17 win over the Eagles was a costly one, however, as QB Terry Wilson went down with a season-ending knee injury.

Kentucky racked up 461 yards against EMU and while they only gave up 49 rushing yards, they gave up 337 passing yards. Backup QB Sawyer Smith came in and passed for 76 yards with two TD and no INT and he will get the start in this game. The team rushed for 239 yards with Kavosiey Smoke and Asim Rose combining for 174 rushing yards.

Smith is a transfer from Troy who last season passed for 1,669 yards with 14 TD. He will have to work some magic, as the Wildcats will have a hard time running the ball against a great Florida run defense.

The Gators have won each of their last 12 games at Kentucky.

Florida will be looking to avenge last season’s home loss to Kentucky, and they will do just that. They are loaded on both sides of the ball and they will keep the Wildcats’ offense in check. Kentucky are down to a backup QB and their run game will not work in this SEC matchup. Florida are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games at KY and will easily cover the spread in this contest.
