While it is no surprise the Cincinnati Bengals are winless three games into the 2019 NFL season, it is a shock to see the Pittsburgh Steelers in a similar situation.
Both teams are 0-3 but have also played tough early season schedules, with each facing a set of teams that only have one loss between them.
Not only is Ben Roethlisberger out for Pittsburgh, but the run game only ranks 29th in the league. After rushing for nearly 1,000 yards last season, RB James Conner only has 97 rushing yards this season and leads the team in that category.
In their last game the Bengals were on the road and lost to the Buffalo Bills 21-17. They gave up the winning TD with only 1:50 left in a game where they were outgained 416 yards to 306 yards and they committed four turnovers. Cincy only rushed for 66 yards while they allowed Buffalo to rush for 175 yards.
Andy Dalton passed for 250 yards with a touchdown and was picked off twice and star WR A.J. Green is still out with an ankle injury and has not played this season. The Bengals are one of the only three teams averaging fewer rushing yards than the Steelers, as they rank dead last in the league averaging a paltry 41.7 rushing yards per game. Joe Mixon rushed for 60 yards in the loss to the Bills and that was his best game of the season after rushing for 27 yards on 17 carries in the first two games.
Dalton and company will be facing a Pittsburgh defense that has given up the fourth most yards in the league and their pass defense is giving up an average of 302.7 passing yards per game.
The Steelers were on the road in their last game losing to the San Francisco 49ers 24-20 even though they forced five turnovers. They were outgained by nearly 200 yards (436-239) and only rushed for 79 yards while giving up 168 yards.
Mason Rudolph has taken over for Roethlisberger and in the loss to San Francisco he passed for 174 yards with two touchdowns and had one interception. JuJu Smith-Schuster led the team with 81 receiving yards and Conner struggled again with only 43 rushing yards averaging 3.3 yards per carry. If there is any game for Conner to get back on track it is this one facing a Bengals run defense that ranks second to last in the league giving up an average of 168.7 rushing yards per game.
The Steelers have won seven in a row against the Bengals.

Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh betting predictions
Pittsburgh -4 at -111.11 with Bovada
Both teams have played poorly on defense so far this season. The Bengals have the better betting trends, but the Steelers have had their number for the last few years. Conner will have a big game running the ball and Pittsburgh will cover the spread at home for their first win of the year.
