Joel Matip sat out on Wednesday night after picking up a knock in the win at Sheffield. He is no certainty to return against Leicester, which means Joe Gomez may stay on at centre-back despite an iffy showing against Salzburg.

Xherdan Shaqiri is still nursing a calf problem, while star goalkeeper Alisson Becker is still one or two weeks away.

James Maddison missed the win over Newcastle due to an ankle injury, but the star midfielder is a good chance to return for the trip to Merseyside.

Leicester have no other injury concerns besides Matthew James, who is out for the foreseeable future with an Achilles problem.
