The Kansas City Chiefs will look to rejoin the NFL winners’ circle this weekend when they head to Missouri for a date with the Houston Texans.

The Chiefs fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in their last game losing at home 19-13 to the Indianapolis Colts. They gave up a ton of rushing yards and their run game was nowhere to be seen.

The Texans are coming off a game where they lit it up to beat the Atlanta Falcons 53-32. This is after only scoring 10 points in their previous game. DeShawn Watson passed for over 400 yards and will face a Kansas City defense that only ranks 25th in the league.

In the win over the Falcons Watson passed for 426 yards with five TD and was not picked off, with William Fuller V scoring three of the TD to go along with 217 receiving yards. The Houston run game racked up 166 rushing yards in the game and Carlos Hyde, who only averaged 2.9 yards per carry, and Duke Johnson rushed for 59 yards.

The Kansas City defense has really struggled against the run this season, ranking 29th in the league in that category, and they gave up 180 yards on the ground in their pretty shocking home loss to the Colts.

Patrick Mahomes was 22/39 for 321 yards with only one touchdown and he was not intercepted. He hurt his ankle in the game but stayed in and had to do most of the work with the Chiefs only rushing for 36 yards. LeSean McCoy leads the team with 214 rushing yards and while he had a couple of catches in the Indy game, he did not have one single carry out of the backfield.

Tyreek hill may be back for this game to give Mahomes another weapon. The Chiefs averaged 33.8 ppg before only going for 13 points in the loss to the Colts. It was the lowest scoring output of Mahomes career by far, as the fewest points KC had scored when he was in the lineup was 26.

Has the league caught up the Chiefs? Before the loss to the Colt they narrowly beat the Detroit Lions in their previous game. They could not handle the great offensive line of the Colts but in this game face a Houston offensive line that has had issues this season.

If Mahomes is given time he may have a big game going up against a Houston pass defense, which only ranks 25th in the league.
