F1 Barcelona

Formula 1 heads to Spain this weekend for the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, with Kimi Antonelli arriving as the hottest driver on the grid after taking out his fifth straight race win in Monaco.

Antonelli has been almost untouchable across the last month, but Barcelona brings a very different kind of test. Monaco was all about track position, qualifying nerve and keeping the car out of the walls. Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya asks far more questions of the full package, with long corners, tyre wear, balance changes and race pace all much harder to hide.

That is what makes this weekend so interesting from a betting point of view. Antonelli is the clear favourite and Mercedes still looks like the best car on the grid, but this is also a track where he has never scored points in F1 or F2. For a driver coming in on a five-race winning streak, Barcelona is a genuine pressure test rather than another simple box-ticking exercise.

George Russell looks the obvious value alternative in the other Mercedes, while Ferrari and McLaren both have enough form to stay dangerous if Antonelli finally has a weekend where things do not fall perfectly. Further down the market, Pierre Gasly has been dragging Alpine into positions it probably has no right to be in, and that makes the top-six market worth a look again.

2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix odds

Antonelli heads the market at -105.26 after winning five straight races, but Russell is close enough at +250 to make the Mercedes number worth splitting. Verstappen is next at +700, although Red Bull has not had the same clean run as Mercedes across the recent stretch.

Norris is rated at +1000, with Piastri at +1200 and the Ferrari pair both sitting at +1400. Hamilton’s podium price looks more appealing than his outright quote, especially given he has finished on the podium in three of his last five races.

  • Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) – -105.26
  • George Russell (Mercedes) – +250
  • Max Verstappen (Red Bull) – +700
  • Lando Norris (McLaren) – +1000
  • Oscar Piastri (McLaren) – +1200
  • Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) – +1400
  • Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) – +1400
  • Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) – +10000
  • Pierre Gasly (Alpine) – +50000
  • Franco Colapinto (Alpine) – +75000

Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix 2026 betting predictions

Barcelona should give us a much cleaner read on the pecking order than Monaco. This is not a circuit where a driver can simply control the race because overtaking is impossible. The car needs to look after its tyres, stay balanced through long corners and still have enough straight-line speed to defend when the DRS trains form.

That is why it is hard to take Antonelli at odds-on, even with his winning streak. He may still be the driver to beat, but his history at Barcelona leaves enough doubt to look elsewhere. Russell, Hamilton and Gasly all make more sense at their prices.

George Russell to win

Russell to win at +250 is the best bet on the board. Mercedes has the best car, and with Antonelli sitting at -105.26, getting Russell at nearly double the price looks too good to pass up from a betting perspective.

He is also due a change of luck. Russell has had enough speed this season to be winning more races than his recent results suggest, and Barcelona should reward a driver who can keep the tyres alive and build a race properly. If Mercedes is as strong here as it has been elsewhere, Russell does not need much to swing his way to turn +250 into a big value number.

Lewis Hamilton podium finish

Hamilton to finish on the podium at +300 looks massive overs given the way he has been racing. He has finished on the podium in three of his last five starts, and Ferrari should have enough pace to keep him in the fight if Mercedes leaves even a small gap.

Barcelona is also a track where Hamilton’s experience matters. Managing tyre phases, knowing when to push, and keeping the car alive through the long corners are all part of what makes this place tricky. He does not need to beat both Mercedes cars to cash this bet; he just needs to stay close enough to punish one mistake from Antonelli, Russell or the McLaren pair.

Pierre Gasly top-six finish

Gasly to finish top six at +600 is the fun midfield play. He has been incredible this season, dragging that Alpine into positions it probably should not be reaching, and he looks in a great spot to do it again if the race opens up even slightly.

This is not about pretending Alpine is suddenly on the level of Mercedes, Ferrari or McLaren. It is about Gasly consistently making the most of a difficult car and turning awkward weekends into strong results. If strategy, tyre wear or a safety car pulls a few quicker drivers out of position, +600 is a strong enough price to back him to steal another top-six finish.
