In a great Sunday night primetime AFC showdown, the undefeated New England Patriots put their perfect record on the line in Baltimore facing the Ravens, who have won three in a row.

The Patriots are coming off a 27-13 win over the Cleveland Browns where the offense had some issues. Tom Brady had a solid game, but the Pats only had 318 total yards. While the run game struggled, the team did force three turnovers and did not commit any.

The Ravens are rested for this big game coming off a bye week after their impressive 30-16 road win over the Seattle Seahawks. Lamar Jackson has been solid on the season and has rushed for 116 yards in each of his last two games.

This begins a key stretch for the Ravens. After facing the winless Cincinnati Bengals next week, they must then tackle the Houston Texans, LA Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills.

Brady was 20/36 for 259 yards with two touchdowns against the Browns and was not picked off. Julian Edelman and James White combined for 153 receiving yards and new addition Mohammed Sanu had two receptions for 23 yards in his first game for New England.

The Pats only rushed for 79 yards in the win over Cleveland and while Sony Michel had most of those yards with 74, he only averaged 3.5 yards per carry. He has not looked great in the last few games and while leading New England with 464 rushing yards on the season, he is only averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

While the Ravens have one of the best run defenses in the league, ranking third, they only rank 26th in the league in pass defense. That is not good with Brady coming to town.

In Baltimore’s big road win over the Seahawks they had seven fewer overall yards (340-347) but rushed for 199 yards and forced two turnovers without committing any.

While Jackson only passed for 143 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions, he rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown and averaged 8.3 yards per carry. He sits seventh in the QB rankings and has the 10th-most rushing yards in the league. Jackson is not doing it all in the backfield, as RB Mark Ingram has 470 rushing yards on the season and is averaging a solid 4.7 yards per carry.

TE Mark Andrews leads the Ravens in receiving yards but had a few drops in the Seattle game, which he has to avoid facing New England.

The Patriots’ defense has been great this season and ranks in the top five in the league against both the run and the pass. They have only faced two teams with a top-notch rushing offense, and one was the Browns in their last game where they gave up 159 rushing yards.

Patriots @ Ravens betting predictions

New England Patriots -3.5 at -105.26 with Bovada

The Ravens have failed to cover the spread in their last six home games and that trend will continue. Action Jackson will have a decent game, but he will not tear up the New England defense. Brady will have another good game and while it might be a close one, the Patriots will come out on top and cover the short spread.
