The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a big win and head across the country to take on the smoking-hot Baltimore Ravens in what could be a Super Bowl preview.

The 49ers were in primetime on Sunday night and delivered a 37-8 thumping of the Green Bay Packers to take a firm grip on the no.1 seed in the NFC. While San Francisco have the league’s top-ranked defense, their offense has starred of late with a combined 73 points in their last two games.

There is no team hotter in the NFL than the Baltimore Ravens, who have won seven games in a row. They are one game back of the New England Patriots for the best record in the AFC and they were more than impressive in their last game, laying a 45-6 beatdown on the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. The Ravens have the league’s best rushing offense, led by MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson.

In their last outing San Fran had a 23-0 half-time lead, outgained Green Bay 339 yards to 198, and held Aaron Rodgers to a paltry 104 passing yards. Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 253 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, meaning he has passed for at least 248 yards in each of his last four games for 11 touchdowns and three interceptions.

San Francisco have the league’s second-ranked rushing offense, but they have not killed it on the ground in their last three games. The 49ers rushed for 112 yards in the win over Green Bay without leading rusher Matt Breida, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury but could return this weekend.

The Ravens’ defense held the Rams to only 221 yards in their last game. On the season they rank 16th against the pass and third against the run.

What more can you say about Lamar Jackson? As a QB he ranks ninth in the league in rushing yards, leads the league in QBR, and in the win over the Rams he passed for five touchdowns and rushed for 95 yards at over 11 yards per carry.

Even more impressive is that Jackson is getting it done with a WR corps that is decent at best. It helps to have Mark Ingram in the backfield, and he rushed for 111 yards at 7.4 yards per carry in the win over the Rams.

Baltimore have outscored their opponents 202-62 in their last five games and have given up 13 points in their last two games. They now face the league’s top-ranked defense in the 49ers, who rank first in the league against the pass but only 19th against the run – a big concern going up against Jackson and the best run game in the NFL.

The 49ers silenced plenty of doubters with their crushing of the Packers in their last game. However, they are in for a long afternoon in Baltimore. Jackson and Ingram will have big days and the Ravens’ run game will take away from the great pass defense and pass rush of the 49ers. Baltimore will not blow out San Francisco like they did the Rams, but they will cover the spread as they win their eighth straight game.
