The New York Jets hit the road to take on a red-hot Baltimore Ravens team as a huge 15-point betting underdog on Thursday night primetime in NFL Week 15.

While the Jets have more than two touchdowns on the betting line, they have played well of late and have won four of their last five games. However, none of those wins have come facing a team with a winning record and the one loss in that span gave the Cincinnati Bengals their first win of the season.

The Ravens are sitting pretty at 11-2 and hold top spot in the AFC. While they lead the New England Patriots by only a game, they hold the tiebreaker against the Pats since they beat them a few weeks back.

Lamar Jackson is the front-runner for the MVP and surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on the season last time out. He leads a Ravens offense that ranks first in the NFL for scoring (33.1 ppg) and tops the league in rushing yards per game (200.9). However, he was injured in the last game and is still listed as questionable with a quad injury.

The Ravens are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against the Jets. This season NYJ are only 1-5 on the road and Baltimore are 5-1 at home.

After losing to the Bengals 22-6, the Jets got back in the win column with a 22-21 result over the Miami Dolphins. They had a balanced game with 262 passing yards and 112 rushing yards and they hit the game-winning field goal as time expired.

Sam Darnold passed for 270 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the Miami game and Robbie Anderson was his main target with 116 receiving yards and a score. While Darnold only ranks 27th in the league in QBR, he has nine touchdowns and only two picks in his last five games.

Bilal Powell led the Jets with 74 rushing yards in the win over the Dolphins but only averaged 3.9 yards per carry. Le’Veon Bell leads the team in rushing yards on the season but missed the Miami game with an illness and should be ready to go against the Ravens.

While all the press has been on Jackson and the Baltimore offense, their defense has been solid all season. The Ravens rank ninth in the league against the pass, sixth against the run and sixth for overall defense.

In their last game, the Ravens beat the Buffalo Bills 24-17. They held the Bills to only 209 yards and rushed for 118 yards. Jackson passed for 145 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, while he only rushed for 40 yards after totaling 196 rushing yards in his previous two games.

Mark Ingram has rushed for 887 yards on the season but has failed to rush for over 59 yards in his last two games. He average only 3.3 yards per carry against the Bills and 3.9 the week before, albeit against a strong San Francisco 49ers defense.

One thing the Jets have going for them is the strength of their run defense. They rank second in the NFL in that category, while their pass defense sits 16th.

Jets @ Ravens NFL betting picks

New York Jets +15 at -111.11 with Bovada

Tough call in this one – not because the Ravens are giving up so many points, but because the status of their star QB is up in the air. Baltimore may be cautious with Jackson and lean more on Ingram and the passing game. New York have some confidence and Darnold will play well through the air. The Ravens will get the win, but the Jets will do enough to cover the spread.
