Buccaneers vs Giants NFL betting preview

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are thriving together to the tune of a 5-2 straight-up record and 4-3 against the spread. The New York Giants have been one of the league’s worst teams at 1-6 and 4-3 ATS. This Monday Night Football matchup between the Buccaneers and the Giants in New York is one of the most lopsided options on the NFL betting board this week.

Bruce Arians and Brady are running one of the league’s best offenses, as the Buccaneers rank third in the NFL in scoring averaging 31.7 points per game. Brady is having an excellent season in his first year away from New England, with 18 touchdown passes, 1,910 passing yards, and only four interceptions. The Buccaneers are 5-1 and 4-2 ATS over their last six games and have scored at least 38 points in three of their last four games.

The New York Giants have played three straight competitive games against their division rivals, losing 22-21 to the Philadelphia Eagles last week, winning 20-19 over the Washington Redskins in Week 6, and losing 37-34 to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. But before averaging 25 points per game against the other terrible teams in the NFC East, the Giants were averaging only 11.8 points through their first four games in 2020. 

There isn’t much doubt that the Buccaneers are going to win this game. The only real question is whether or not they will cover the large 13-point spread. With wide receiver Mike Evans hampered by injury, Chris Godwin out with a finger injury, and newly signed wideout Antonio Brown out serving a suspension, the high-powered Bucs offense may not be clicking at its normal pace.

But even with a battered wide receiving core, Brady shouldn’t have any trouble carving up this weak Giants defense. More importantly, the NY’s toothless offense won’t be able to keep up. Look for the Bucs to win comfortably and to send the game over its posted total with a blowout win on Monday night.
