Novak Djokovic v Stefanos Tsitsipas betting preview
The 2021 French Open Men’s Final is set, and it pits the Serbian #1 seed Novak Djokovic -333.33 up against the Greek #5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas +230 on Sunday afternoon in what is a rematch of the 2020 French Open Semi-Final.
Novak Djokovic conquered the toughest test in world tennis when defeating Rafael Nadal in a four-set classic encounter in his Semi-Final. The win handed his Spanish rival just his third ever loss on the Parisian clay and is arguably the perfect preparation as Djokovic searches for his 19th Grand Slam title.
Stefanos Tsitsipas stands in the ‘Joker’s’ way from claiming a 19th title after he became the first Greek man to ever make a Grand Slam Final. Tsitsipas prevailed in the battle of the young guns against Alexander Zverev in a five-set thriller. Having only dropped three sets on his way to the Final at Roland Garros, Tsitsipas could not be in any better form to face Djokovic than what he is for Sunday’s encounter.
Djokovic has the obvious experience on his side in Grand Slam Final’s and he leads the head-to-head ledger between the two, winning five of their seven previous meetings. Djokovic has won each of their three encounters on Clay including last year’s Semi-Final here at Roland Garros.
In that Semi-Final last year, Tsitsipas pushed the world number one to five sets and if he brings his form that has seen make his first Grand Slam final, then we expect this to go the distance.
2021 French Open’s Men’s Final Predictions
Novak Djokovic 3-2
With $5 on offer for the Men’s final to go the distance, we expect Novak to put in a repeat performance that saw him beat Tsitsipas in the 2020 Semi-Final. He won 6-3 6-2 5-7 4-6 6-1 and considering he just conquered the almighty Rafael Nadal; Djokovic is the one to beat in what could go down as one of the most entertaining French Open Final’s in recent history. Having won all three previous encounters between the two, Tsitsipas has pushed the Serbian in two of those matches and we expect Sunday’s Final to follow a similar formline.
