Udinese vs Venezia

Udinese Calcio (0-1-0) earned an impressive point in its match last Sunday against Juventus. After falling down 2-0 in the first 23 minutes, Udinese maintained its composure and eventually made a comeback with goals in the 51st and 83rd minutes to secure a 2-2 draw.

Venezia lost 2-0 on the road against Napoli despite being up a man for the majority of the contest after Victor Osimhen received a red card in the 22nd minute. Fiorentina vs Torino

ACF Fiorentina (0-0-1) lost its season opener 3-1 on the road against AS Roma on Sunday. Torino (0-0-1) also lost last weekend, dropping its game against Atalanta 2-1 at home. Neither club looked particularly strong in Matchweek 1, but both were going up against superior clubs. This week’s match should be a bit more evenly matched.

And if recent history is any indication, it will likely be a low-scoring affair. Six of the last seven matches between Fiorentina and Torino have produced two goals or less including three 1-1 draws over that stretch. Considering that neither club is coming into this match with much form on offense after scoring only one goal last week, and how these games generally play out, the under 2.5 goals seems to carry some value.

Salernitana vs Roma

As mentioned above, AS Roma (1-0-0) was on the right side of a 3-1 victory over Fiorentina last week. New manager Jose Mourinho tends to generate strong results early in his tenures before eventually losing favor with his players and the club’s fans. Fortunately for Roma backers, we are still very early on in this Mourinho era.

US Salernitana (0-0-1) was defeated 3-2 on the road against Bologna on Sunday. Salernitana has spent only one year of its history in Serie A before this one. Expecting a win over Roma this early in the season would be a bit ambitious for Salernitana fans.
