Bundesliga 2021/22 Matchweek 7 betting picks & top value bets

Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are both in the top four on the Bundesliga table heading into Matchweek 7. We are targeting both of these teams in our Bundesliga best bets this weekend and also have a play in Friday’s Koln vs Greuther Furth match.

Koln vs Greuther Furth

Koln (2-3-1) continues to be one of the biggest early surprises of the 2021-22 season having earned points in five of its first six matches. This is a club that went 8-9-17 last season with a -26 goal differential. This year, Koln has a +2 goal differential through its first six matches and has earned at least a point in its last four games with a win and three draws.

On Friday, Koln hosts a Greuther Furth (0-1-5) club that is well on its way to relegation with only four goals scored and 16 goals conceded this season. Koln has won each of its last two matches against Furth by a final score of 4-0. Given the current form of these two teams and the fact that the game is being played at home for Koln (Furth is 0-0-3 and has been outscored 10-2 on the road), this seems like a pretty clear play on the favorite.

Borussia Dortmund vs Augsburg

Borussia Dortmund (4-0-2) had a very rare off-day on offense last Saturday in a 1-0 road loss to Monchengladbach. Mahmoud Dahoud left the match with a red card in the 40th minute and Dortmund was unable to get anything going short-handed in the second half. Before Saturday’s shutout loss, Dortmund had scored 17 goals through its first five Bundesliga matches this season.

A home game against Augsburg (1-2-3) should be just what the doctor ordered for Dortmund to bounce back from this loss. Augsburg has scored only two goals this season while conceding 11. Dortmund is 3-0-0 at home this season and is averaging four goals per game at Signal Iduna Park. The club is also 4-0-0 in its last four matches against Ausburgh with all of those wins coming by at least two goals or more. We are confident enough in a Dortmund blowout to play the home team against the spread in this one.

Arminia Bielefeld vs Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen (4-1-1) has earned points in every match this season except for its 4-3 loss to Dortmund. The club’s +9 goal differential with 16 goals scored and seven goals conceded this season is second only to Bayern Munich’s +18. Leverkusen’s defense has allowed only two goals in the five games it played against teams other than Dortmund.

Arminia Bielefeld (0-4-2) has scored only three goals through its first six matches and has failed to earn a win in any of them. Arminia’s strong defensive play (conceding only six goals in six matches) has led the team to four draws, but against a top offense like Leverkusen’s, holding the line for 90 minutes will be a tall order. Look for Bayer Leverkusen to get the job done with a road win on Sunday.
