Verona vs Lazio

Verona (2-2-4) has had some wild games this season with 17 goals scored (fifth best in Serie A) and 17 goals conceded (tied for third worst in Serie A). Lazio (4-2-2) has racked up 18 goals (tied for third best) while allowing 13 in 2021-22. This translates to an average of 4.25 total goals scored in Verona’s eight matches and 3.88 total goals scored in Lazio’s.

Given how frequently both of these teams have produced high scoring affairs this season, it stands to reason that a matchup between them should result in plenty of fireworks on offense. But surprisingly, in a match that could easily produce four or more goals, the total at many sports betting sites is still set in the 2.5 to 3 range. Take the OVER.

AS Roma vs Napoli

Could this be the match that finally costs Napoli (8-0-0) its perfect record? The club defeated Torino 1-0 at home last Sunday to improve to 8-0-0 and to extend its goal differential on the season to +16 with 19 goals scored and only three conceded. AS Roma (5-0-3), meanwhile, lost for the third time in its last five matches in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Juventus on Sunday.

If Roma were in better form, we’d be interested in taking a shot on them as home underdogs in this spot. But Napoli has been too consistent week in and week out, and Roma has struggled against strong offensive teams like Verona and Lazio, who both have defeated Roma 3-2 this season. We’ll keep rolling with Napoli this Sunday.

Inter Milan vs Juventus

Inter Milan (5-2-1) led Lazio 1-0 heading into the second half last Saturday before conceding three goals in the final 30 minutes to suffer its first loss of the season 3-1 on the road. Juventus (4-2-2), meanwhile, picked up a fourth straight win in league play with a 1-0 win over AS Roma. Including its last two UEFA Champions League matches, Juventus has now gone four straight games without conceding a goal.

Inter has the best offense in Serie A and home field advantage in this one. There are plenty of reasons to like the squad’s chances to bounce back from last week’s loss. But with Juventus playing so well and owning a 7-4-1 record in its last eight matches against Inter Milan, we can’t pass on the road team getting such juicy underdog odds on an upset.
