EPL Matchweek 24 betting tips, top odds & value picks

The English Premier League’s top two teams are both big favorites at home this week as Manchester City hosts Brentford and Liverpool hosts Leicester City. We’ve got plays in those two matchups along with a pick in Thursday’s Wolves vs Arsenal game in our EPL betting tips for Matchweek 24.

Manchester City vs Brentford

Manchester City (18-3-2) had a 12-game winning streak snapped in a 1-1 draw on the road against Southampton before the international break. Brentford (6-5-12) is the unfortunate team set to face what should be a fully focused City squad at home this Wednesday at Etihad Stadium. The road club has lost four straight and has been outscored 12-3 over that stretch.

The last time these two clubs met, City scraped a 1-0 victory on the road. There are plenty of reasons to expect a more decisive result this time around. That game was not at home for Manchester City and it came two days prior to a road tilt at Arsenal that was more of a concern. City is coming off of a break and a draw this time around and should be looking to set the tone for the stretch run in this one. We’re taking Manchester City against the spread in anticipation of a blowout win.

Liverpool vs Leicester City

Liverpool (14-6-2) will be out for revenge when it hosts Leicester City (7-5-8) this Thursday. With their 3-1 road win over Crystal Palace before the break, the Reds improved to 8-2-1 over their last 11 matches. The one loss over that stretch came in December when the Foxes pulled off a 1-0 upset over Liverpool.

Leicester City had its next three games postponed due to COVID-19 complications and has gone 0-1-1 since returning to action on January 19. The East Midlands club has had a rough time on the road this season with a 2-3-4 record away from home, including a current 0-2-2 stretch with two straight losses. Liverpool against the spread is tempting given Leicester’s poor road form, but the OVER 3.5 goals looks like the better play. Prior to the surprising 1-0 result last time out, these two clubs had produced an average of four total goals per game in their previous five meetings. Look for a high-scoring affair in this spot.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Arsenal

This should be a great game. Since opening the season with a 1-0-4 record, Wolverhampton Wanderers (10-4-7) are 9-4-3 with a current streak of 4-1-0 over their last five games. Wolves’ defending has been lights out, allowing only four goals over the team’s last 10 matches, and that stretch includes top clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Arsenal (11-3-7) wrapped up December with a 4-0-0 record before going 0-1-1 in two games played last month. When at its best, this Arsenal side is certainly capable of beating a team like Wolves on the road. Still, the current soccer betting odds don’t seem to properly assess how good Wolves have been of late. An Arsenal win or a draw are both realistic outcomes, but Wolverhampton is well worth a bet as a big underdog at home.
