BKFC Fight Night New York 2 betting picks – Saturday, March 12

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 56

Anthony Retic has stepped in on short notice to replace Johnny Bedford in the main event of the BKFC Fight Night New York 2 against Jarod Grant. The co-main event also features a late injury replacement, as Jeremiah Riggs will now face Connor Tierney instead of Jim Alers. Here’s a closer look at the two new fights that will headline this Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship card in New York this Saturday night.

Main Event: Jarod Grant (+120) vs Anthony Retic (-150)

With current BKFC Bantamweight Champion Johnny Bedford sidelined with an injury, this main event bout between Jarod Grant and Anthony Retic will now be for the BKFC Bantamweight Interim Championship. Grant is an impressive young star who has compiled a perfect 4-0-0 record in the BKFC with four straight knockout wins. At just 23 years old, Grant appears to have a bright future in the fight game ahead of him regardless of the outcome of this match.

Anthony Retic has had an up-and-down career in mixed martial arts competition with an 8-9 record as a professional, but his power is undeniable with six of his eight MMA wins coming by way of knockout. Retic has won each of his first two bare knuckle boxing bouts with a decision win over Chris Johnson in Toe The Line 1 and a knockout win against Andy Locker at BKFC 17.

This looks to be a pretty even matchup on paper between two heavy hitters that will both be facing their toughest opponent in bare-knuckle boxing to date. Given that this one feels like it could go either way, we’ll happily take the underdog odds on the strong up-and-comer in this spot.

Co-Main Event: Connor Tierney (-325) vs Jeremiah Riggs (+250)

Connor Tierney is set to make his long-awaited BKFC debut after having compiled a 5-1 record in bare knuckle boxing across the pond in the United Kingdom. His original matchup against Jim Alers would have been a good one as Alers is 4-1 in BKFC competition since 2019. Instead, Tierney will fight Jeremiah Riggs, who won his BKFC debut with a knockout victory over Eric Thompson in January.

Riggs is perhaps best known for a brief stint in Bellator all the way back in 2012 and 2013, though it wasn’t a particularly memorable run with an 0-3 record. The win over Thompson showed that Riggs won’t be a total pushover, but Tierney is younger, more talented, and more experienced in bare-knuckle boxing. This is definitely his fight to lose.
