SimpleBet working on SmartRadio voice betting app for cars

SimpleBet is partnering with other companies to develop a solution to enable users to bet using a voice command while driving. The New York-based sports betting technology provider is working with Radioline, a podcast and radio solutions company, and Connected Travel, a connected vehicle platform developer, for the project. The innovative concept was also mentioned at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas, which was running from April 23-27.

The sports betting technology will allow listeners to jump into the action when listening to play-by-play action while on the road. The innovation already has a name – SmartRadio – and is currently in its testing phase. SmartRadio is connected to Google’s Android Automotive System, allowing anyone in the car to interact with radio programming in real-time, including any sports matches.

On the subject, Bryan Biniak, the CEO of Connected Travel, said that integrating payments, voice, and eCommerce technologies in vehicles allows drivers to safely and instantly interact with the audio programming.

Radioline is already beginning the integration of SmartRadio into its apps, including Apple CarPlay and Android Automotive. Radioline’s applications support 100,000+ radio streams and podcasts in over 15 languages from 150+ countries.

According to Radioline’s COO, Xavier Filliol, the SmartRadio app is only the beginning. He hopes that it will be incorporated into over 100 million Android Automotive cars, including Honda, Ford, and GM.

The SmartRadio innovation is not the only feature Radioline has to offer. Listeners can create multiple playlists and also synchronize their content across multiple devices. With the application, users can also change the playback speeds and download episodes of different sports betting podcasts.
