NFC divisional odds & betting predictions – NFL 2022 futures

LA Rams NFL betting news

We are inching closer to the start of the NFL season and team minicamps are finally open. From here on out, the rosters will not change too much and before we know it, the preseason will be upon us. Now can be a good time to place some NFL futures and at this point in the offseason, divisional winner odds appear to have the best value. We have already gone through the divisional odds in the AFC, and today we will look at the NFC.

NFC East winner: Philadelphia Eagles

The NFC East is one of the most fascinating divisions in football. There hasn’t been a repeat winner of the division since 2004 and the parity has been unmatched by other divisions. The Dallas Cowboys won it last year and they are the favorites to win it again in 2022. At +120, though, the odds are not worth betting on. Dallas lost some key players to free agency and didn’t do too much to improve. If Dak Prescott, their quarterback, takes a huge leap in terms of performance, then Dallas will win the division. But we are not counting on that.

The next favorite is our pick, the Philadelphia Eagles. They are at +165 to win the division and that’s a pretty solid price. The Eagles will have Jalen Hurts at quarterback for the third season, and while he is inconsistent, the Eagles brought in A.J. Brown from the Titans to be his number one receiver. Hurts should take a step forward and the rest of the Eagles’ roster is really solid. If they can stay healthy, Philly and Dallas will fight for this division, and right now we are siding with the Eagles.

The last two teams in this division are the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants. While Washington will have a new QB (and team name), and the Giants will have a new coach, these teams are both rebuilding and it’s not worth laying money on teams that likely will finish under .500.

NFC North winner: Green Bay Packers

There is not too much to talk about with this division. The Packers have won eight of the last 11 divisional titles and will be returning Aaron Rodgers for his age 38 season. Ultimately, the Packers should win this division with relative ease, and while this line is a little heavy, it may be the highest odds they get all season. In recent history, the Packers have led in this division from start to finish and there is never a time to get a good price on them. Lock this in now and watch Rodgers torch his divisional rivals.

The other three teams in this division are all going to struggle this season. The Minnesota Vikings have high hopes, but they also have an aging roster with Kirk Cousins at the helm. While they may be scrappy, they are nowhere near the Packers. The Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears are the remaining teams in this division and it would be shocking to see them compete. They are both in limbo with bad rosters and will not be very good in this upcoming NFL season.

NFC South winner: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

When one looks at the teams in the NFC South, there is only one realistic pick to win the division. It’s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Tom Brady and company. However, their odds are at -325 with Bovada and that’s simply not worth it. All the other teams in the division do not project to be very competitive and it should be the Bucs’ title to lose. At this point, we recommend avoiding this division entirely.

NFC West winner: Los Angeles Rams

The Rams won the division last year and should once again be in the mix. They are returning most of their Super Bowl-winning roster and should be playing even looser this season. Also, their divisional opponents appear to have downgraded. The Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Broncos and are entering a rebuild. Seattle will not compete this season.

The Arizona Cardinals are a very talented team, but they have a disgruntled Kyler Murray at quarterback and their star wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, will miss six games with a PED suspension. Even if the Cards’ offense looks good, their defense isn’t reliable and their coach, Kliff Kingsbury, has underachieved in the past.

The San Francisco 49ers project to be a strong team in 2022. They have a good roster on both sides of the ball. That being said, the Niners will have a sophomore quarterback named Trey Lance leading them. He only started one game last year and there are a lot of question marks about his accuracy. While he could surprise everyone, we are not counting on that. The Rams project to be just as good as last season and should be motivated to repeat as divisional champions.
