Cowboys v Giants NFL Monday best bets – September 26, 2022

Dallas Cowboys v New York Giants NFL preview

This week on Monday Night Football, NFL fans will be treated to an old rivalry matchup between two divisional foes as New York Giants host the Dallas Cowboys.

The Giants are off to a surprising 2-0 start, and while they don’t feel like a great team, you are what your record says you are. On the other side of the field, the 1-1 Cowboys will be hoping to grab a win without their star quarterback, Dak Prescott.

It may not be the most entertaining game, but this matchup should be relatively close. Here are our best picks for NFL Week 3’s Monday Night feature.

Cowboys @ Giants moneyline pick: Dallas

The Cowboys are off to a 1-1 start and have played an inconsistent brand of football. In Week 1, the Cowboys couldn’t get anything going and lost 19-3 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 2, they were able to grab a win against the Cincinnati Bengals and flashed their defensive potential. While their offense is unreliable with backup QB Cooper Rush under center, the Cowboys defense looks vastly improved on previous seasons and may have to carry this team.

The Giants have been the surprise of the season so far. While they haven’t looked super strong in either of their games, you can’t argue with 2-0. While the new coaching staff seems to have this Giants team playing with a lot of motivation, the actual roster is somewhat barren – and that will show in the coming weeks. The Giants have been able to escape with two wins by less than three points, and that is not a sustainable way to win football games. The Giants offense, led by Daniel Jones, has been uninspiring, and their defense hasn’t played a strong offense yet. While the Cowboys don’t have a great offense, this is a tough matchup for the G-Men and they should cop their first loss of the season in this spot.

Giants anytime touchdown pick: Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones is the much maligned quarterback for the New York Giants. While he has shown flashes of talent, there are a lot of concerns about his accuracy and decision making. One thing that isn’t a concern is his ability to scramble, and he should have to use his legs in this game. The Cowboys have a great defensive line featuring studs like Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence and they should force Jones to run all game long. If this happens near the endzone, Jones will not hesitate to punch the ball in and will take any yards he can get. At +260 with Bovada, it’s a little bit of a longshot, but we like Jones’ odds to score in this contest.

Cowboys anytime touchdown pick: Ceedee Lamb

Ceedee Lamb is an impressive young receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. While he is yet to score a touchdown this season, he had six last year. For this game, the Cowboys’ second-best receiver, Michael Gallup, should return and thus take some of the pressure off of Lamb. Also, the Giants have a depleted secondary and do not have the talent to contain someone of Lamb’s ability. While it may be tough to rely on this Cowboys passing attack with their backup QB, Lamb is extremely talented and should be open a lot in this contest. As long as Cooper Rush is somewhat competent, we like Lamb to score. The +155 on offer with the top football betting sites is a great number to bet at.
