AFC West betting preview, future picks & best odds – NFL 2023

While the AFC West division is top-heavy, it is full of intrigue and projects to be relatively competitive. Here are our top NFL betting picks for the AFC West this season.

Kansas City Chiefs

-190 at Bovada

In all likelihood, the Chiefs will win this division. They won the Super Bowl last year and dominated the division en route to a 14-3 record. They have been in the AFC Championship in each of the last five seasons and have won at least 12 regular season games in all of those campaigns. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the best player in the NFL and the team did nothing in the offseason to dissuade us from picking the Chiefs. At -190, it’s a hefty price but it is still good value as the Chiefs should once again dominate the AFC West.

Another Chiefs future we love is their win total over. Right now, that line sits at -134 to win over 11.5 games and that is a great bet. The Chiefs have been the model of consistency and they always figure out a way to be amongst the best NFL teams. Patrick Mahomes could very well be the best player of all time and we won’t bet against him. Take the Chiefs over.

Los Angeles Chargers

+310 at Bovada

Next up is everyone’s favorite dark horse team, the Los Angeles Chargers. Led by quarterback Justin Herbert and an elite group of skill-position players, the Chargers will once again try to outscore every team they play. Their defense is lacking, but with that offense, they have a lot of upside. While we don’t think they will compete with Kansas City for the division, we like the Chargers to win over 9.5 games at -128. They won 10 games last year with Herbert playing through injury and we think they will have a similar season, if not better.

Denver Broncos

+625 at Bovada

All in all, the Denver Broncos are a team to avoid. While they have a talented roster, their star acquisition last year, QB Russell Wilson, played very poorly and they ended up with a 7-10 record. This team is wildly unpredictable and Wilson could bounce back but he could easily be benched at some point. Due to that uncertainty, we will stay away from any Bronco’s futures, no matter how promising their new coaching hire, Sean Payton, seems on paper.

Las Vegas Raiders

+1250 at Bovada

The Raiders are rebuilding and this season does not look very promising for them. While they finished 10-7 last year, the Raiders switched QBs and look destined to tank for next year’s draft. It is safe to say they will not be competing for the divisional title. All of that makes us like their under of 6.5 wins at -104. While Las Vegas still have the remnants of a talented team, they will be quick to pack it in this season and trade those stars for picks. We expect that to happen and if it does, this team will be competing for the first overall pick. Don’t overthink this, take the under.
