Andrey Rublev secures back-to-back Qatar Open titles

Andrey Rublev defeated Jack Draper 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 to claim his second Qatar Open title, solidifying his ATP top-10 ranking.

Andrey Rublev claimed the Qatar Open title over the weekend, defeating Jack Draper 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 in a thrilling final that kept fans engaged until the very end.

The victory not only reinforced Rublev’s status as a top ATP contender but also marked a significant milestone in his career, as he secured back-to-back titles at this prestigious tennis event.

Rublev showed dominance in the opening set with a powerful first serve, dropping just one point on his initial serve attempts.

Draper, who had fought through multiple three-set matches earlier in the tournament, responded by grinding out a second-set win.

However, fatigue caught up with the Brit in the decider, as Rublev took full control and closed out the match with a commanding 6-1 third set.

“It feels amazing,” Rublev said.

“Winning this title twice is special. Both of us were exhausted after tough matches, but we still managed to play at a high level.”

The win is Rublev’s first since August 2024 and strengthens his position inside the ATP top 10.

Meanwhile, Draper’s impressive run in Doha has caught the attention of top online betting sites, who have shortened his odds to win Wimbledon this year.

He now sits as the fourth favorite at +1400, ahead of world No.2 Alexander Zverev, who is priced at +1600 with Nags.bet.
