The North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham at Emirates Stadium is scheduled for Sunday afternoon and is arguably one of the more highly anticipated matchups of Matchweek 6 of the EPL season. Bettingplanet’s soccer expert presents his best bets and match analysis for what will be the 204th meeting between these two arch-rivals.
Arsenal v Tottenham match analysis
Arsenal surprisingly will be the more confident of the two sides heading into Sunday clashes coming off consecutive 1-0 victories against Norwich (H) and then Burnely (A). Despite the narrow margins, the Gunners will no doubt take supreme confidence from those games following the horrific start to the new campaign they endured. With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Martin Odegaard finding the back of the net and defensive midfielder Thomas Partey approaching full fitness, Arsenal could continue their form with another win.
In recent years, Arsenal’s defence has always been questionable and with a Tottenham side consisting of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, the likes of Ben White and Gabriel with have their hands full all afternoon. However, with names such as Bakayo Saka, Nicholas Pepe, Emile Smith-Rowe and the aforementioned Aubameyang, the Gunners will give an undermanned Tottenham defence headaches of their own and it could come down to which defence holds up best.

It seemingly has gone all wrong for Tottenham in the last two weeks of the EPL season with consecutive 3-0 defeats to Crystal Palace (A) and then Chelsea (H) last week. Harry Kane has been nothing short of poor to begin his Premier League campaign and is yet to find the back of the net this season. Spurs fans will be hopeful that Kane and Heung-Min Son can get back to their sort of performances they put in last year and with Son already bagging two goals this year, Kane simply needs to find his feet and these two can carry Spurs throughout the next month or so.
Spurs will be looking to put a poor second-half display against Chelsea behind them, where they conceded all three of the goals scored to defensive players. On the back of a mid-week win in the Carabao Cup where they welcomed back Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero at centre back, perhaps it could be a Tottenham away win in what is sure to be a tight tussle throughout the North London Derby.
Arsenal v Tottenham EPL predictions & best bets
Draw
As you can tell, we are finding hard to split these two teams and online bookmakers are seemingly struggling to do so too. With both sides heading to Sunday’s clash hoping they do not lose, it looks to be a smart play to back the draw at $3.25, With the final third an issue for both Spurs and Arsenal, it looks destined to be a 0-0 or 1-1 draw as both sides look to remain in Europe contention early on in the EPL season.
Draw
Under 2.5 Goals
With two goals between these two sides in the past two weeks of the EPL season, it is a near certainty that the first North London Derby of the year will be a low-scoring affair. Eight of the past 11 games between these two sides have been under 2.5 goals With both teams struggling to score in the 2021/22 season it is hardly going to be a six-goal affair and with neither team wanting to drop points it could be a stale affair at the Emirates.
Under 2.5 Goals
