Belgium made it through to the last eight after a 1-0 victory over reigning Euro champions Portugal with thanks to a wonder-strike from Thorgan Hazard in the 42nd minute. The world’s no.1-ranked side will be up against it on Friday night, however, with superstar duo Eden Hazard (hamstring) and Kevin De Bruyne (ankle) both expected to miss the clash in Munich.

Despite the injuries to Hazard and De Bruyne, this Belgian side have shown throughout the tournament that they have what it takes to go all the way in Euro 2020. They will be out to exact revenge against Italy, who got the better of them at Euro 2016 with a 2-0 result in the group stage. Italy have been equally as impressive and come into the Euro 2020 quarter finals fresh off a 2-1 extra-time win over Austria. Substitutes Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina proved the difference, both netting goals in the first half of extra time. The Italians had not conceded a goal in Euro 2020 prior to Sasa Kalajdzic’s strike in the 114th minute.

The Azzurri are set to have a full contingent of players to choose from on Friday night. Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne have proved a handful for defences in the tournament so far, and they could be the ones to break down this Belgian defence.
