A welterweight bout between Douglas Lima and Jason Jackson will serve as the main event of this Friday night’s Bellator 283 card. These are our best bets for that bout and the other four fights on the main card at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington.
Welterweight: Douglas Lima (+166) vs Jason Jackson (-191)
Jason Jackson (15-4-0) is 6-1-0 through his first seven fights including a current stretch of five straight decision wins. His only loss with the promotion came by split decision against Ed Ruth back in 2019. Douglas Lima (32-8-0) meanwhile is going in the opposite direction with three straight losses after having gone 6-1-0 over his previous seven bouts.
In addition to his current slump, Jackson missed weight for this fight by 1.8 pounds, forcing him to forfeit a percentage of his purse for this fight which will still take place as a catchweight match. Given how hot Jackson is and legitimate questions about Lima’s current fitness and motivation on the heels of an 0-3 skid, the favorite seems like a pretty clear choice in the main event.

Lightweight: Sidney Outlaw (+119) vs Tofiq Musayev (-139)
Tofiq Musayev (18-4-0) is set to make his Bellator debut on Friday and is 14-1 over his last 14 professional fights after having had a 14-fight win streak snapped in his last bout with Rizin FF. Sidney Outlaw (16-4-0) is 11-1 over his last 12 fights including a 3-1 record in Bellator and a current stretch of two straight wins. There is some serious hype around Musayev coming into this bout as a knockout artist with 14 knockouts through his first 22 fights; we’ll take a shot on him to live up to that hype with a victory here.

Lightweight: Usman Nurmagomedov (-900) vs Chris Gonzalez (+550)
Usman Nurmagomedov (14-0-0) is just 24 years old and has already compiled a perfect 14-0 record including a 3-0 start in Bellator. Chris Gonzalez (7-1-0) has flashed some recent power in knockout wins over Saad Awad and Roger Huerta, but he also got knocked out by Goiti Yamauchi in his first professional loss last year. He’s on his way to a second loss here as Nurmagomedov is clearly the superior fighter in this matchup.

Welterweight: Lorenz Larkin (+130) vs Mukhamed Berkhamov (-150)
Mukhamed Berkhamov (14-0-0) picked up his 14th career win and his ninth career submission win in his Bellator debut last October against Jaleel Willis. Lorenz Larkin (24-7-0) enters this fight with some good momentum with six straight wins, most recently knocking out Kyle Stewart and Bellator 280. Berkhamov looks like the real deal, but at this price Larkin is well worth a shot as a live underdog in good form with plenty of experience at this level.
Lorenz Larkin by decision
Heavyweight: Davion Franklin (-240) vs Marcelo Golm (+205)
Davion Franklin (5-0-0) is off to an undefeated 5-0 start to his young career in Bellator with three of those wins coming by knockout. Marcelo Golm (6-3-0) has won three straight fights including his Bellator debut against Billy Swanson in August since losing his previous three fights in the UFC. Golm has a path to an upset if he can take this fight to the mat and find a timely submission maneuver, but this fight was booked as a showcase for Franklin, who should open the card up with some fireworks.
