Bisping vs. Gastelum UFC China

SHANGHAI is set to rock this Saturday as the UFC makes its way to China for the first time.

UFC Fight Night Bisping vs. Gastelum is one of the headline fighting cards of the year, featuring not only two of the best middleweight contenders in the UFC, but local fighters from China looking to impress their home-crowd fans.

China’s own Li Jingliang features on the main card when he takes on Zak Ottow. Jingliang is a well-rounded fighter set to take on the UFC world and we’re sure the home town fans and bettors will be cheering him on.

It’s going to be a great night of UFC action in Shanghai which features four main fights and seven undercard fights.

Bisping vs. Gastelum fight tip

This fight was supposed to be Kelvin Gastelum vs. Anderson Silva, but the Brazilian champion failed a drugs test and Michael “The Count” Bisping took his place.

Fighting on short notice after losing to Georges St. Pierre at UFC #217, the loud-mouthed Bisping is hoping for a quick return to form and a possible rematch against the French Canadian.

“I don’t see how I could have turned this down. I honestly think this is a win-win situation for me,” Bisping said at the media call.

“I get to go out there and get back in the win column. Put on a great fight, remind the world what I’m capable of and I get paid again. It’s all positive from my perspective.”

Standing in the Brits way is Kelvin Gastelum, who has come on leaps and bounds since appearing on The Ultimate Fighter.

With a record of 14-3 (one no contest), Gastelum hasn’t had an easy time of it lately, losing to Chris Weidman in July, but he earned a Performance of the Night title against Vitor Belfort in March and he’s one of the best fighters in the division, despite being ranked #9.

The heavy favorite for this fight against Michael Bisping, the American has been preparing for this fight for a while now and he’ll no doubt be in the better shape. That could be enough to see him over the line and bookmakers tend to agree.

Gastelum is -232.56 with bookmakers and that should give bettors a happy end to the night.

Jingliang vs. Ottow fight prediction

Li “The Leech” Jingliang holds the hopes of the local Chinese fans as he takes on Zak “The Barbarian” Ottow.

Jingliang is a 13-4 fighter who made quite an impression in the UFC. He scored three consecutive wins against tough opponents, including a knockout victory over Anton Zafir and Bobby Nash in consecutive fights.

He won a Fight of the Night title when beating Frank Camacho at UFC Fight Night in June and he’s had months to prepare for this fight against Zak Ottow.

Ottow is a well-rounded fighter who uses all aspects of MMA to get the job done. He hasn’t been the most exciting fighter in recent history, winning or losing all his recent fights via split decision and we think the home country hero could take this fight easily.

Jingliang is currently the -166.67 favorite and he’s not only going to have the crowd cheering for him, but the majority of bettors as well.

Guan vs. Caceres fight tip

Wang Guan has a record of 16-1-1, but he doesn’t have any big-name fights by his name.

He looks to have plenty of potential and his record speaks for itself, but we fear the worst for Guan this weekend against the talented Alex Caceres.

With a modest record of 13-10, Caceres could be overlooked by many as a top fighter, but he’s tough and is coming off a TKO win where the doctor had to stop the fight.

He caused plenty of damage to Rolando Dy in June and Guan will need to be careful of taking similar damage here.

Caceres’ idol is Bruce Lee and that’s evident in his style. He’s one of the most dynamic fighters in the UFC and he’s always a treat to watch.

We might be picking against the Asian fighter in Wang Guan, but he will earn our respect if he can tough it out for three rounds against a fighter of Caceres’ ability.

Cacares to win paying -175.44 with bookmakers.

Salikov vs. Garcia fight prediction

Two athletic fighters do battle in the UFC Octagon here as 12-1 Muslim Salikhov takes on 14-4 Alex Garcia.

Garcia is the favorite to win at -188.68 after losing to Tim Means in June, but losing to Means isn’t something to be ashamed of. Prior to that loss, Garcia defeated Mike Pyle in a fight that earned him Performance of the Night honours and that could worry Salikhov.

Salikov is a relatively unknown fighter, making his UFC debut, but he’s called the “King of Kung Fu” for a reason and that’s a dangerous title to have.

He wins the majority of his fights via knockout and it’s unlikely that we’ll see this fight go the distance, but we haven’t seen much of the fighter and Alex Garcia is a professional athlete.

We think Garcia will win this fight in what should be one of the most exciting fights at UFC Shanghai.
